This document discusses electromagnetic induction. It explains that electromagnetic induction occurs when a magnetic field is used to generate an electric current in a conducting object like a coil. It then discusses how Michael Faraday discovered electromagnetic induction in 1831 through experiments with coils and magnets. The document outlines that moving a magnet in and out of a coil or moving a coil in a magnetic field will induce an electromotive force or voltage in the coil.

CONTEXT PAGE NO INTRODUCTION
Electromagnetic Induction: Electromagnetic induction is a phenomena
in which magnetic field is used to generate electric current in a object, coil, etc. This are mostly used in motors, generators, transformers, etc.
ElectroMagnet: When a soft metal is surrounded by coil and electric
current is passed through the soft metal to convert the soft metal into a electro magent.
Induction: This is a process of generating electric current by placing the
current in a changing magnetic field. THEORY
INVENTION: Electromagnetic Induction was discovered by Michael
Faraday in 1831, and James Clerk Maxwell mathematically described it as Faraday’s law of induction. Faraday noticed that when he moved a permanent magnet in and out of a coil or a single loop of wire it induced an ElectroMotive Force or emf, in other words a Voltage, and therefore a current was produced. So what Michael Faraday discovered was a way of producing an electrical current in a circuit by using only the force of a magnetic field and not batteries. This then lead to a very important law linking electricity with magnetism.
DISCOVERY: Faraday took a magnet and a coil and connected the
coil with a galvanometer. First he moved the magnet toward the coil, the galvanometer showed deflection in one direction. Again he moved the magnet back to its position, the galvanometer showed deflection but this time it showed deflection in the opposite direction.
He did this process again with the coil and magnet but this time he moved the coil and got the same results as previous time.
ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD( E.M.F): When a changing magnetic
field is placed near a coil the coil generates electric current in it.
INDUCED EMF: If a changing magnetic field is passed through a coil
then a electromagnetic field is generated in the coil. There are 2 ways to generate emf in coil:
1) By moving the magnet or magnetic field in different directions.
