ASSIGNMENT 1
1.1 Ideation
1.2 Finishing Process
1.3 Final Artwork
Create 2 artworks using a variety of materials on a flat
surface measuring 50x50cm in order to bring a new
experience in conveying emotions to the audience.
1.1 IDEATION

Artwork 1

Use different materials and contrast between wool and

steel. The artwork is geared towards the feeling of being
tied down. The use of contrasting materials will increase
the emotion of the artwork.

Artwork 2

In artwork 2, less materials are used, but the minimalism in

terms of materials will be replaced by creating blocks that
use watercolor to create surfaces. This artwork aims to
give viewers a new feeling in many angles.

ASSIGNMENT 2
2.1 Research
2.2 Sketches
2.3 Final Design
Research and use basic shapes and lines to create 10
identification signals of an object (optional). The signal
should not be highly illustrative, the geometric elements
used should be minimal and effective.
2.1 RESEARCH

Shrimps

In this asignment, I choose shrimp as my research object.

The reason for choosing it is because: the shrimp has
outstanding features, which are completely different from
other animals such as the curved body, the pointed head
and the very thin antennae; The body is covered by a shell
divided into segments from head to tail.

Through these outstanding features, I can further research

and develop by minimizing the parts of the shrimp to bring
it into a simple icon form with basic shapes and lines.

2.2 SKETCHES

Early sketches

After researching the shape and structure of the shrimp.

I tried to bring these elements into basic shapes and
lines. The ideas revolve around creating shrimp signals by
combining basic shapes. The goal is to create signals that
are simple but still full of elements and recognizable.

Using 3 out of 10 signals in assignment 2 to apply to
the design of product packaging related to the object of
study in assignment 2. The signals should be included in a
reasonable and easily identifiable way.
3.1 ABOUT NAGI

Nagi - Natural Gift

Nagi is a company operating in the field of food, born in the

land of Ca Mau - the end of the country, famous for many
products of the Southwest River. Abbreviated from the
phrase Natural Gift, NaGi aims to create an image of a high-
quality natural dried shrimp brand, representing the small
country of Ca Mau, bringing to the hands of customers who
cherish each delicious natural product, in the most intact
way. “Keeping the whole homeland” is the message that
NaGi sends through each product, like how it is committed
to the homeland, to customers - for a healthy community,
through clean and safe food while keeping the whole
delicious taste of each shrimp.

20 I TECHNIQUES AND PROCESSES

Nagi’s product

Nagi’s products are mainly shrimp. One of the unique

strengths that NaGi builds and focuses on - is dried shrimp
products made from live crayfish (besides other dried
natural shrimp products) - especially in raw food materials.
to the method. It is possible to mention dried black tiger
shrimp and natural white shrimp in the list of NaGi dried
shrimp, but the dried shrimp product line from live land
shrimp is the most unique. Processed as soon as the
shrimp is alive – the time when the nutrition, sweetness,
and firmness are intact; Along with the meticulousness of
each batch of dried shrimp, through many stages with so
many special things, it can prove the value of the quality of
each shrimp NaGi brings to customers.

TECHNIQUES AND PROCESSES I 21

Original product

Nagi’s product packaging has many inappropriate points

for a stable design, from the jar structure to the design
and font elements. This is packaging with many defects,
so there will be more ideas in the redesign, so I chose this
product for my assignment 3.
