Sell out myself – myself:

First of all, I was born in South Korea, moved here 14 years ago with my family mom, dad and my
older brother and been here since then. So I spent most of my childhood here and pretty much
grew up here.

At the end of the shift, reflecting back on what I’ve done and how it all went well.

I always heard

- Why I decided to become a nurse – I have always had strong affinity to not just to nurses
but any other healthcare professions because I liked healthscience/medicine,
anatomy/physiology human body is so interesting, hospital environment and originally
my dream as a child was to be a doctor because I was a bit pushed by family and
relatives. however as I grew up it has kind of shifted to nurses because it’s a job with a
big purpose,  steady income, being able to work in many nursing areas
so a lot of opportunities for a new learnings and you get to travel
different countries. Also workhours are flexible, I enjoy getting my
heads around things and using my body to do my work but mostly, I liked
helping people and wanted to help as many people as I can and I realized that I could
do more of that as a nurse rather than a doctor. and been told im nice and kind by
people around me and thought nursing would be the right career for me.

- After getting in to university and start doing placements, I couldn’t picture myself doing
something else. I wasn’t sure which nursing I would do, so during my time as student
nurse I wanted to try as much nursing setting as possible until I find the one I most
enjoyed. for my last placement, I got theatre and im loving it.

- Why we need nurses in theatre: In theatre as nurses we hardly see patient awake, most of
the time they are under anaesthesia. While patient is under anaesthesia, they do not have
 patient’s
a say in decisions regarding their own health for example: (blah).
spokesperson while they are under anaesthetic – as well as
preparing them for surgery, making sure they are safe
- What has been the most rewarding/influential aspect of your nurse training and how has this
Its gotta be different clinical placements we had
impacted on you as a nurse?:
throughout the course and working with various preceptors. (Mental
health, surgical wards, communities, district and theatre) provided
broader knowledge regarding different nursing cultures.
Found my pre-reg placement in theatre most influential because it has provide me an insight
interesting and
of what I would like to do in the future. The peri-operative setting was
stimulating because I had strong interest in anatomy and physiology, the
surgeries were just mindblowing how they came up with these ideas in
the first place with limited technology and knowledge at that time in the
past. Also you get to work with different healthcare professionals
anaesthetist, surgeons, teamwork is the most important aspect in
theatre.
- How I will be an asset in the team: I will set myself as an example in front of others with
my dedication towards my work and also create a friendly environment so that every
person working in this organisation can interact with each other to solve the difficulties or
share their views without any hesitation which will indeed help the betterment and
development of the organisation.

000 I am not going say that I am the best for your organization because "I still have so
much to learn  but this job is what I love and want to do so If it is what I love, I will
dedicate and put a lot of efforts to it. As I am hard working person and always open up to
new things, I will learn fast and become good asset to your organization if you give me a
chance

I am not going to present myself as being the perfect candidate for your organization,
because we are all human beings and we are not expressions of perfection, but what I
am going to tell you is that I am a passionate person who works hard to make his
presence worth. I am sure there might be things that I won't know how to accomplish, but
I am eager to learn and do my best.

Conflict – scenario, I didn’t have many conflicts but if I have to choose one it would have to be
one during my first placement. So I have been taking care of this patient who has recently had a
fall and have been done a hip joint replacement. She had dementia and often during the day she
appeared confused and disorientated. And became teary. So I often had to reorientate her
regarding where she was, why she was here and who I was. After a few days caring for her, I was
assigned to a different preceptor and started looking after different patient on the other side of
the ward. One day I when I was helping with meals I noticed this lady looking around the room
clueless and confused. I went up to her and did what I use to do and calmed her down for meals.
Then the nurse who was looking after her came in and told me that there was no need for that,
because she will just carry on soon after, so do something more useful to help your learning. This
