A national NGO, is implementing a project on vertical farming in District Peshawar. The project aims
to introduce and promote the concept of vertical farming among local farmers, as well as provide
training and technical support for those interested in adopting this modern farming technique.
Under the project, the NGO is establishing a vertical farm demonstration center, where farmers can
learn about the benefits of vertical farming and how to set up their own vertical farms. The
demonstration center will showcase different vertical farming systems, such as hydroponics,
aeroponics, and aquaponics, and provide hands-on training on how to operate and maintain these
systems.
The NGO is also providing financial and technical support to selected farmers to establish their own
vertical farms, and helping them connect with potential buyers and markets for their produce. The
project is expected to promote sustainable agriculture practices, reduce the environmental impact
of farming, and improve food security in the region.
To ensure the sustainability of the project, the organization will also work with local government
authorities to develop policies and regulations to support the adoption of vertical farming in the
district. The organization will also engage with local communities through awareness campaigns and
community meetings to promote the benefits of vertical farming and encourage their participation
in the project.
The organization is seeking the services of competent and qualified professionals from Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa preferably Peshawar district for the following positions.
Job Details:
i. Planting, maintaining, and harvesting crops or plants: This involves working with a variety of
plants, including vegetables, fruits, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
ii. Soil preparation and maintenance: He/She is responsible for ensuring that soil conditions are
optimal for plant growth. This may involve testing soil samples, fertilizing, and amending soil
as needed.
iii. Pest and disease management: He/She must be knowledgeable about the various pests and
diseases that can affect plants, and develop strategies to control and prevent them.
iv. Irrigation and watering: Depending on the location and climate, He/She may need to
manage the watering and irrigation systems for plants.
v. Landscape design and installation: He/She work in landscaping and may be responsible for
designing and installing gardens, parks, and other outdoor spaces.
vi. Research and development: He/She work in research and development, developing new
plant varieties or testing new cultivation techniques.
vii. Education and outreach: He/She may also be responsible for educating others about
horticulture, including teaching workshops, giving presentations, and leading tours.
i. Diploma in Agriculture
ii. At least 3 years of relevant work experience
iii. Excellent knowledge of crop production, soil science, and pest management
iv. Strong leadership and management skills
v. Must be resident of district Peshawar, preferably from the center nearby areas
vi. The potential candidate must have practical experience of handling the main crops of the
area.

Duties and Responsibilities:
I. Develop training programs: The trainer is responsible for developing and designing training
programs that cover the fundamentals of vertical farming, including crop selection, lighting,
nutrient management, and pest control. The training program should be suitable for a
diverse audience, including farmers, students, and researchers.
II. Conduct training sessions: The trainer will lead training sessions to educate individuals on
the techniques and best practices of vertical farming. This includes both theoretical and
hands-on training, where individuals can learn how to set up and maintain vertical farms.
i. Evaluate the effectiveness of training: After each training session, the trainer will evaluate
the effectiveness of the training and collect feedback from participants. This feedback will
help the trainer improve the training programs and make necessary changes.
ii. Develop training materials: The trainer will develop training materials, including manuals,
videos, and presentations, that will be used during the training sessions. These materials
should be easy to understand and comprehensive enough to cover all aspects of vertical
farming.
iii. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in vertical farming: The trainer will stay up-to-
date with the latest developments in the field of vertical farming and update the training
programs accordingly. This includes advancements in technology, new plant varieties, and
changes in regulations.
iv. Provide technical support: The trainer will provide technical support to individuals who have
completed the training program. This includes answering questions, providing guidance, and
troubleshooting problems.
Overall, the trainer on vertical farming plays a critical role in promoting sustainable agriculture
practices and improving food security by educating and training individuals on the techniques and
best practices of vertical farming.
