Motivation for Adventure

Using the resources available in class, the library or internet you are to select an adventure to
report on to the rest of the class. You will present your oral report to the class on Wednesday
21st Feb. You will be assessed on the standard of the presentation, the thoroughness of the
information, the details of the trip, participants motivation and how engaging the presentation
is. Use the questions below as a guide to ensure your report is thorough.

You should present for 3-5 minutes. Consider using some images to tell the story.

1. Describe the adventure. Where, when, who, was it successful, etc. (5 Marks)

2. What were the motives of the participants as far as you can tell from the write-up? (5)

3. What image of adventure does the article give? – glamorous, thrilling, etc. (2)

4. What impact could such an article have on participation in a similar adventure? (2)

5. What impact could the effect on participation have on the environment? (3)
