from the rest of the world?
The Fili[pinos are one of the most
hospitable people you may find
everywhere. Foreign visitors in the country
are treated with utmost respect where
Filipinos are giving their best to entertain
visitors well.

Mano is a kind of gesture that Filipino use


when they see someone that is older than
them and "po" and "opo" is used in a
sentence when addressing elders.
Filipino Traits and Traditions
Bayanihan
Bayanihan is the spirit of unity,
cooperation and effort of every Filipino in
the community to achieve a particular
objective.
Courtship
Filipinos are very objective when it comes
to heart affairs. The man often offers a
serenade/harana to a women they are
courting.
Religion
Their habit of going to church and often
praying reflects that Filipinos have a deep
faith and belief when it comes to religion.
Superstition
These beliefs have come from different
sayings and beliefs of our ancestors that
aim to prevent danger from happening.
Marriage and Wedding
Marriage is a sacred union of man and
woman after a period of courtship and
engagement. It is a sacrament between
two people who love each other.
Christmas in the Philippines
Christmas in the Philippines is considered
as one of the biggest holiday in the
archipelago. Christmas in the Philippines is
celebrated from the start of the month of
September up to December.
Fiestas
Every town and city in the Philippines has
fiesta of its own. It is held to celebrate a
Patron Saint.
Living with Parents
Filipinos highly value the presence of
family more than anything.

Filipinos are very resilient
In times of calamities and catastrophes,
Filipinos always manage to rise above the
challenge.
Filipinos are very religous
In all corners of Filipino house, you can
find brazen images of crosses and other
religious paraphernalia.
Filipinos are very respectful
From the moment they are born into this
world, they are already taught on how to
be respectful by using the phrase "po" and
"opo"
Filipinos value tradition and
culture
They usually set aside a specific day for a
certain celebration like festivals, birthdays,
parties, reunions, etc...

Foreign visitors in the Philippines are

Weaknesses of the Filipino
Character
Colonial Mentality
More strictly refers to the attitude the
Filipinos feel that products coming from
other countries are more superior to the
local products.
Kanya-kanya Syndrome
Kanya-kanya syndrome is also evident in
the personal ambition and drive the power
and status that is completely insensitive
to the common good.
Extreme Personalism
The personalism is manifested in the
tendency to give personal interpretations
to actions. ("take things personally")
Lack of Discipline
Procastination is one reason of lack of
self-discipline. A weak state of health
might also lead to weaknessof this
important ability.
Lack of Self-analysis and
Reflection
There is a tendency in the Filipino to be
superficial. In the face of serious problems,
both personal and social, there is a lack of
analysis or reflection.
Ningas Cogon
A Filipino attitude of being enthusiastic
only during the start of a new undertaking
but ends in accomplishing nothing.
Gaya-gaya Attitude
A Filipino attitude of imitating or copying
other culture specifically in mode of
dressing, language, fashion, trend or even
haircut and hairstyles.
