Škoda Auto Language Training Organization – Information for Teachers

1) Textbooks –we use New English File / English File (A1 – C1 levels) for English lessons,
Schritte / Schritte Neu (A1 – B1 levels) and Sicher (B2 – C2 levels) for German lessons

The acceleration and crash courses do not require textbooks, the classes are tailored to suit the
students.

2) Termination of teaching
 Classes in Škoda Auto usually end on 30 November
 Accelerated courses end after 80 VH have been exhausted. However, the course must
be completed within 6 months from the start of classes at the latest.
 Crash courses end after 40 VH have been exhausted. However, the course must be
completed within 2 months from the start of classes at the latest.

3) Testing – testing is a part of the lessons

 at the beginning of the year – on-line placement test (tests assigned by Škoda Akademie)
 half-term tests (tests assigned by language school/teacher)
 at the end of the year – on-line placement test (tests assigned by Škoda Akademie)

4) Attendance
The attendance will only be recorded in the MyCat system.

After you enter a lesson, MyCat will always send the student an automatic email notification
about the entered/cancelled tuition. When you enter a taught lesson, he will also be able to see
the summary of the lesson and the homework part.

Therefore, it's extremely important for you to enter the lessons in the system
regularly and as soon as possible, i.e. by the end of the week. The lessons that take
place at the end of the month need to be submitted by the first work day of the
following month.

5) Excuses from the Lessons

- Employees inform the teacher about their absence 24 hours and more prior, preferably in
writing
o Individual lessons – lessons that were cancelled late (less than 24 hours prior are
invoiced as if the lesson took place (status Z – late cancellation)
o Group lessons – individual students are invoiced with excused lessons unless the
student interrupts lesson for a calendar month (see 7)

6) Interrupting Lessons (status P – interruption for this month)

- Students can interrupt lessons only for an entire calendar month
- Students inform Škoda Auto Language Training Department about interrupting in writing,
as a following step the information is given to a language school which informs the teacher

7) Students cancel their attendance in lessons only electronically on Škoda Auto portal, it does not
suffice to inform the teachers or language schools.
