Spa Heater

Jet-Flo Spa Heater is an in-line Spa Heater with thefollowing characteristics:

1. Two pcs. corrosion resistant Incoloy electric elements rated at 6 kw each, 240 volts, 60 Hz, single
phase.

2. Heating chamber consist of 1½“ stainless pipes and cast bronze manifold for element support with
grounding terminal.

3. Two EGO thermostats with range 0 to 75°C and 2 to 3°C differential.are deployed to control
tempersture. One is Adjustable with outside dial from cold to hot as desired. The other one is fixed to
about 45 to 55 °C as backup!

4. Electric power passes thru a heavy-duty 4 pole magnetic contactor capable of handling 40 Ampere
of resistive load per pole with 2 poles. used per element, with magnetic coil governed by the thermostat
and a pressure flow switch with upper range of 5 PSI.

5. Housing is stainless steel with pilot light to signal element operation.

6. The spa heater is advised to be installed beside the spa or near the spa to avoid heat loss . It should
be at the level of spa water so as not to affect the prssure activating point. Placing a spa overhead may
cause the spa heater not to activate due to low pressure. On the other hand , placing it much below
water level may cause unwanted activation of the heater with consequent water boiling.

Installation Requirement:
I. 60-ampere circuit breaker with ground fault detector should be used to provide power to the heater.

II. Minimum size of #6 THN wire or equivalent for connection to the circuit breaker.

III. The operation of the spa is activated by water flow pressure from the spa pump.

IV. The spa heater should always be grounded adequately.

V. No stop valve should be placed on both ends of spa heater

VI. Before energizing the spa heater, water must be flowing thru spa heater chamber

VII. Spa water PH must be strictly maintained at neutral or 7.4 to prevent corrosion on electric element

VIII, The lower pipe is always the inlet while the upper pipe is the outlet.
CAUTIONS AND WARNINGS
1. Be sure to check all cautions and warnings in this manual and as displayed on the heater labels
before operating or performing and maintenance on these heaters.

2. Do not remove the heater cover while electrical power is applied to the heater. Power must be
interrupted at the heater supply circuit breaker or disconnect switch.

3. The MIN setting on the temperature control dial is an OFF position. The heater will not operate
at this setting regardless of water temperature.

4. For safety, use a ground detecting circuit 60Amp. breaker minimum of #6 wire

STARTING THE HEATER

- CAUTION -
Do not operate heater without water.
1. Ensure that heater case is properly grounded, and bonded.

2. Fill the system with water and start the circulating pump.

3. Turn on electrical power at the heater supply circuit breaker.

4. Dial the temperature control to desired water temperature.

Once the set point is reached , the heater will be inactivated.
When the temperature goes down 3°C below set temperature, the thermostat will again activate
the heater!
It is advised not to immerse oneself above 40°C for a prolonged time!

STOPPING THE HEATER

Turn off electrical power at the heater supply circuit

MAINTENANCE
1. Keep the heater clean.

2. If high temperature causes the limit thermostat to cut off the electrical power, turn off power at
disconnect switch and determine the cause before resetting the switch. A water temperature drop is
required to allow resetting of the manual reset high temperature limit.

3. If leaks develop in the heater or connecting piping, shut down the heater and repair defective
connections.

4. If heating elements are removed for replacement, use only Jet-Flo incoloy elements
CAUTION
DO NOT INSTALL ANY SHUT-
OFF VALVE ON DISCHARGE
