“What sets you apart can sometimes feel like a burden and it's not. And a lot of the time, it's
what makes you great.” — Emma Stone
It is uncanny to believe that what we think about ourselves is based on our own perceptions and
beliefs. But more than often it is not the case. More often, what we perceive ourselves to be is
nothing but a reflection of how others want to see us. So, first it is important to see yourself as
what you are, essentially, based on your core values. I used to be a person who wanted to be
someone who I wasn’t . I wanted to be the perfect partner, the perfect daughter, the perfect
friend and so on. I wanted to fit myself in boxes which no one else but I myself created. I still get
affected by what people think about me. Believing in yourself no matter what others think about
you is something I wish I had learnt sooner. I learnt this lesson a little late in my life, but better
be late than never.
Life encompasses millions of opportunities for us , gives us endless chances , and innumerable
memories to cherish. This is my chance to make a difference, and I wouldn’t have wanted it any
other way. After all life is nothing but a journey, and as Robert Frost said, “ I have miles to go
before I sleep , miles to go before I sleep.”
