Photogenic
United Nations Pageants LLC ® titleholders will appear in print advertising throughout their
year's reign. As representatives of our pageant system, winners must possess photographic
appeal and ability to project an image in print that is consistent with beauty and elegance. Our
titleholders define our system. Photography is the medium through which the general public
most often is introduced to any pageant system (e.g., in the newspaper, magazine ads / articles,
television news clips. Photogenic is the area of competition that delegates have the most control
over. Follow the guidelines closely in the Policy and Procedures section. If you have any
questions about whether or not your photo meets the requirements, please do not hesitate to
ask.
A headshot MUST look like you and should not be overly airbrushed.

submit Crown & Sash photographs for the National Website or the International Program
Book.

18
So, now that you are an official delegate, how do you go about the business of being a
titleholder? Titleholders are required and encouraged to be active during their tenure with the
United Nations Pageants ™. This section will provide you with guidelines and tips for making
the most of your United Nations State, National & International™ title.
Develop a Platform.
Social activism has been a very positive trend in pageantry in recent years. Make your title
stand for something, focusing on how you can use the crown to make a difference. Taking a
stand serves to identify you with a positive purpose and distinguishes you from the unfortunate
public image of titleholders as merely pretty ornaments.
The choice of a platform issue should be of personal significant. For instance, if a family
member suffers from cancer, you may want to align yourself with the Cancer Society/HIV AIDS
and participate in their fundraisers, educational programs, and special events.
Taking a stand does not in any way preclude you from having fun or participating in activities
such as parades, festivals, and ribbon cuttings. Those are always favorite events among
titleholders. However, using the crown to make a difference in your community will give you
tremendous satisfaction!

• ♦ Cultural issues
• ♦ Homelessness
• ♦ Women’s issues
• ♦ Promoting Education
• ♦ Domestic Violence
• ♦ Overcoming Alcoholism
• ♦ Ending Hunger

• ♦ Teen Pregnancy
♦ Volunteerism
Simply stated -- anytime you wear your crown and sash at a public event. Appearances need
not always be big events. Local festivals, reading to a class are other great ways to use your
title. Delegates are required to make appearances. But keep in mind that you are a titleholder
for the fastest growing International pageant in the industry. Your crown and sash can sit on the
shelf collecting dust or you can make your year exciting and memorable. It’s up to you!
Keep your eye on the newspaper for upcoming events. Another resource for learning about
events is your local Tourism Office or Visitors and Convention Bureau. These agencies have
booklets and brochures that list dozens, sometimes hundreds, of events in your area
throughout the year.
Develop a Promotional Kit for event organizers and the media. Event organizers need to
know that you are available and willing to volunteer.
• ♦ Develop a Cover Letter: This is a brief letter to introduce yourself and offer your
availability to assist with events. Include a paragraph focusing on your platform
issue so that the event organizer will know that you are a person of substance.
•
23
• ♦ Personal Fact Sheet: Develop a 1-page Personal Fact Sheet. Include honors,
awards, titles, hobbies, etc. Include only the most important and interesting
information.
• ♦ Photography Have photos taken in your United Nations Pageants crown and
banner. You will need photos for the competition but it is also helpful to
get a good quality headshot. Include a photo as part of your Promotional Kit. Many
titleholders enjoy having photo autograph cards made and taking them along with
them to appearance. Consult the phone book or surf the net to find companies that
produce comp cards. You will find many which do good work at a good price.
24
Now you are ready to send your Promo Kit to event organizers. Make sure your packet is
addressed to the attention of the “Marketing Director” or “Event Manager”.
You should always follow-up with a phone call. Event organizers are very busy. It is easy for
your packet to be misplaced or for the event organizer to simply forget to contact you. When
calling event organizers, make certain that you talk with the right person. In other words, you
need to get past the receptionist (who may not have the authority or motivation to help you!)
Before you introduce yourself, ask questions, such as “Who is in charge of the
________event?” or “Who do I speak to about special events or promotions?” Chances
are the person you need to speak with is the “Promotions Manager”, “Special Events
Director/Coordinator”, or “Marketing Director”. Only the organizer has the authority to book
you at the event. When you get the right person on the phone, volunteer to help out in any way
that they need you. Provide them with suggestions of what you would like to do. If they ask you
to send a letter (if they’ve misplaced the one you already sent) says something like”I would be
happy to send another promotional kit. In the meantime, can we set something up now so that I
can mark my appearance calendar?”
One of the most misunderstood and useful documents are the Press Release. Some people
think there are undercover roving reporters scouting the neighborhood. Others think that
sending an outline of facts will result in a story. In rare instances, the media for an interview
may contact you and the reporter will write the story. However, in most cases, newspapers will
print EXACTLY what you include in your Press Release. Send these items and a photo to your
local newspapers and chances are, you will see yourself in print.
• 1. Television: Television stations can use your help to answer the phones on telethons,
draw names for gifts, or be a guest on a talk show. If they can’t use you as a guest, you
may still want to go & be a part of the studio audience. While wearing your crown &
sash, the cameraman won’t be able to resist focusing on YOU when he pans the
audience. You might even be asked to come back and be on the show as a guest at a
future date.
25
• 2. Radio: Radio stations have talk shows too. Or offer to read the sports, weather, or
news as a guest. Radio stations also sponsor many events. Ask to help out.
• 3. Newspaper / Magazines: you are a role model. Present yourself as such to the
newspapers & you will see yourself in print. As mentioned above, send a complete
Press Release and/or write your own article. Don’t forget to send photos from
appearances to Pageantry Magazine and other pageant industry publications. They
tend to print just about everything they receive.
Appearance Tips.
Code of Conduct
Titleholders should always present themselves with dignity & honor. When you wear your
crown and sash, you represent your country, culture, state, hometown, the pageant, and
yourself.
• 3. Etiquette: Be better than your best! Always arrive on time or early for
appearances. Send the event organizer a thank-you note after the event. This
small courtesy is often overlooked.
Parade Tips
Check your local newspaper for upcoming parades. Contact the parade chairman or fire
department. Firemen participate in parades across the state. They may be able to give you a
listing of upcoming parades.
• 1. Obtaining a car Ask the parade organizer to arrange for a convertible for you to
ride in. Often titleholders will ride 2 to a car. A local car dealer may lend you a car,
with or without a driver. Tell the car dealer to make a sign stating “Car courtesy of
______ dealership” for publicity. If the dealer won’t lend you a car, he or she (or
the parade chairman or fire dept.) may know someone who has a convertible and
is willing to drive you. Titleholders have ridden on fire trucks, with politicians, in
classic cars, on the tops of cars with T-roofs, on a float, or in the backs of trucks.
• 2. Signs for your car always make signs with your name & title. Take masking
tape or string along to hang your signs on the car or truck. If you expect to be in a
lot of parades, you may want to purchase magnetic signs. Or you can make your
own magnetic signs by gluing strips of magnets to the back of poster board.
• 3. Be a “sweet” heart! Take a basket of candy to throw to the children. Adults will
love your queenly wave, but the kids would rather have the candy! Smile & wave
along the entire parade route (even if the crowd is sparse). Dress either in formal
attire or according to the event (e.g. in costume for Halloween.)
Sports figures make appearances regularly for charity. Find out where the sports personalities
are appearing and go with camera in hand. Send your promo materials & call the team offices.
Offer to help out & appear with the sports figure. Ask if you can throw out the first ball at a
baseball game. Be a guest caddy or keep score at a golf tournament. Don’t forget bowling,
tennis, swimming, chess, & other tournaments. You could present awards. Special events and
craft show are held at the races. Be photographed in the “Winner’s Circle”! Don’t forget where
the fun really happens – amusement parks and tourist attractions! There are certainly lots of
appearance opportunities if you use a little creativity.
Titleholders can serve many useful functions at fairs, festivals; holiday and other special events
(e.g., draw the winners of sweepstakes, judge, emcee, or present awards for contests, sign
autographs, hostess, and work at concession stands, take tickets, distribute brochures /
product samples, or just walk around greeting the public.
The Holidays
Many special events take place during the holiday. Judge or hand out awards for “Best
Costume” at a Halloween parade. Have your picture taken with Santa, donate a toy and deliver
gifts to needy children, ring the bell for the Salvation Army (perhaps dressed as an elf!) You
don’t have to wait for an event --YOU can sponsor one! Organize an Easter Egg hunt for
children. Offer to help wrap gifts at the mall or a local department store. Be creative!
Check the newspaper for charitable events. Titleholders are always welcome to donate their
time. Use your title to help out the less fortunate. Participate in walk-a-thons, car washes, bake
sales, & fundraisers.
Healthy Choices
Hospitals and health-related organizations always need volunteers. Participate in blood drives,
health fairs, fundraisers, tag days, health education programs, & other events at your local
hospital. Call the Volunteer Services Department for info. Often hospitals need greeters &
escorts for patients & families. Many times, you can bring joy & hope to patients just by visiting!
Physically, mentally, and emotionally challenged people could use your support! Present
awards and be a “hugger” at the Special Olympics. (A “hugger” gives out hugs to the
handicapped children who participate.) Help prevent drug abuse & alcoholism by speaking out
on these topics as platform issues.
Do you love children? As a titleholder, children will love YOU too! Offer to help out a
pre-schools & day care centers. There are many youth-oriented groups, which sponsor events
& need your help. Get involved in campaigns to find missing children or speak out against child
abuse as platform issues. Volunteer, speak or perform at nursing & retirement homes. Adopt a
grandparent or visit elders who don’t have family left on holidays. There are lots of
organizations for seniors, such as AARP, the Golden Agers, etc. These groups sponsor
29
activities & they are very appreciative of your interest & help. They always give a warm
welcome to titleholders at their meetings & events.
Politically Correct
Have your photo taken with local politicians. Their offices routinely arrange photo sessions. Call
for an appointment. Ask to be included in events the politicians attend. Help out with
campaigns. Distribute literature for your favorite at the polls on election day. You may be invited
to the victory party! It is very common for public officials to present you with a citation,
certificate of honor, or even a flag upon request. Ask the public official to arrange for a
newspaper photographer to be present. Help to register people to vote!
Libraries sponsor special events. Get involved in adult literacy programs. Offer to read stories
curing “Children’s Hour”. Libraries also sponsor seminars & classes. Offer to teach one on your
platform issue. Help out with book drives. The 3rd week in January is “National Book Week”.
Many bookstores also sponsor events. Get involved in activities at your local school. Be on the
field for Homecoming & crown the Homecoming queen. Be a guest cheerleader for the High
School or Junior High. Be introduced at the Pep Rallies. Offer to speak about your platform
issue at local elementary, junior high, & high schools. Motivate our youth with your
accomplishments. Colleges & universities sponsor many events such as Homecoming parades
& festivities, fund-raisers, cultural & sporting events. Don’t forget events happening at
museums and science centers.
Business clubs (e.g., Jaycees), social clubs (e.g., Elks, Lions, and Moose), Women’s Clubs,
and special interest clubs love for titleholders to speak or perform at their meetings. Often
they’ll even invite you to dinner. Also, clubs & club members sponsor events such as
fund-raisers and socials. Call around and send your promo materials to clubs in your area.
Animal lover
Do you love animals? Use your title to help find homes for unwanted pets! Get involved with
activities with the Humane Society. Speak out against cruelty to animals as a platform issue.
Attend cat or dog show & present awards to the winners. Don’t forget...the 1st week of May is
“Be Kind to Animals Week”!
The Arts
31
Perhaps you have a performing talent or maybe you just love to watch dance and theater. Use
you title to help with fundraising.
Special events are always happening at malls. Have your photo taken with Santa at Christmas.
Offer to pull names of sweepstakes winners. Cut the ribbon at “Grand Openings”, hostess at
“open houses”, hand out literature/coupons/samples. Call the Mall Marketing Director to inquire
about events.
Model Perfect
Use your title as a stepping-stone to a modeling career or do some modeling for fun. Volunteer
for fashion shows, wedding shows, print work, promotional work, & commercials. Contact bridal
shops to volunteer for wedding & prom fashion shows. Be an extra in a movie. Maybe you’ll
even get a speaking part. Amateur photographers are thrilled to use you to practice their work.
Sometimes they’ll even give you free copies of the pictures.
Spiritual awakening
Get involved in special events & programs through your Church or Temple. Offer to make a few
comments or deliver a special sermon. Some religious organizations are quite active in the
community. Get involved.
You’re hired!
Use your title as a stepping-stone to a career. Visit businesses or industries in which you are
interested in pursuing a vocation. Ask about events happening in the airports. Volunteer to work
the ticket counter for a few hours or escort people onto the plane. Prospective attorneys can
visit law firms, observe court proceedings, or volunteer to work in the law library for a few
hours. !
Be a survivor!
Interested in victim’s rights or in helping victims to become survivors? Abuse crisis centers &
shelters could use your help & victims could use your support! What a great platform issue!
On display
32
Display your crown and sash in the display case at your school, workplace, or dance studio.
Special events happen at hotels. Crown the winners, emcee, hostess, or judge at other
pageants. Distribute awards at dance & gymnastics competitions. Be creative & have fun!
33
Keeping a well-documented scrapbook of your year as a United Nations titleholder will provide
you with wonderful memories to share and relive over & over again! Take your scrapbook along
to appearances with you. This provides a great conversation starter. People will love seeing all
the fun things you are doing with your title. Here are some tips for a Super Scrapbook:
It really is helpful to work on your scrapbook “in real time”. Waiting until the end of the year to
organize your photos & memoirs turns an enjoyable task into a tedious chore. Think of your
scrapbook as an on-going project that you and your family create together as a labor of love.
You'll be able to more accurately capture your memories if you add to your book after each
event. The result will be a priceless collection of valuable memories that you’ll review time and
time again!
You should always take a camera & lots of extra film to appearances. Try to get photos with
media personalities, celebrities, or sports figures. Often there are costumed characters at
events. Posing with them makes for colorful photos to remember the day. Take photos to signify
what the event is or where it is being held. If you are distributing product samples, hold up the
product & snap a photo. If you are judging or helping out with a talent contest or pageant, get
photos with the contestants & winners. Always order double prints to share with United Nation
Pageants System, Inc. We also love to promote you on our website.
Collect advertisements & newspaper clipping relevant to the event you are attending
(especially if your name or title is mentioned). Add these to your book. Brochures, tickets,
stickers, handbills, business cards (e.g., media personalities, celebrities, sports figures). These
items all add tremendously to make your scrapbook more interesting.
34
Type or write a synopsis of the event (i.e., the name of the event, date & location, what you did,
people you met, any special memories) and include this in your book. Label your photos with
captions.
Packaging
You shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but……... Be creative with the cover of your scrapbook!
Have it covered with fabric, lace, rhinestones, pearls, sequins, etc. Or glue a photo to the cover
& secure it with a clear plastic laminating sheet.

**NOTE: None of the special awards listed above will have any affect on the overall score for
deciding who will be crowned United Nations Pageants.
United Nations Pageants has a very open policy regarding information. I believe that delegates
are entitled to all available information about how judges are selected and how scoring is
conducted. What follows is the same information that I have provided to United Nations
Pageants Preliminary Directors about how to select and instruct the judges. United Nations
Pageants. Follows the same guidelines at the International level.
Selecting Judges.
Just about anyone with an excellent reputation can serve as a judge as long as they receive
proper training and instruction from the Director. Directors should do their best to select a
judging panel that is diverse in terms of cultural background and profession. The judges should
be individuals who are in a position to evaluate the delegates on the scoring criteria. Look for
judges with experience in the pageant industry (e.g., former titleholders, experienced judges,
directors from other systems). Representatives from the entertainment and modeling industry
also make excellent judges as these individuals are accustomed to either being in the public
eye themselves or knowledgeable in selecting talent. It is advisable to include a diverse range
of professionals (e.g., doctors, lawyers, educators) on the judging panel.
The pageant community is a small industry. It is likely that some experienced judges may have
come into contact with delegates at prior events. Directors must instruct the judges not to allow
any prior memory of past performance impact on their scoring decisions.
Directors should select judges who are “disinterested” parties, meaning that they have no stake
in the outcome of the pageant. Should you learn of a conflict of interest (e.g., a judge who has
coached a delegate for your event, a judge who has a delegate under contract for modeling or
promotion, etc.), you must remove the judge from the panel immediately and invalidate his/her
scores.
39
Both delegates and judges often ask the question “What are you looking for in a winner?”
To answer that question, a good place to start is a review of the concept and goals of this
pageant. In 2009, Leon Williams, United Nations Pageants ® founder envisioned a regal
National/Intl. pageant celebrating beauty, culture, style, and intelligence.
United Nations Pageants is on the fast track to rival the oldest and most prestigious
International pageants in existence today.
With the pageant’s 10th year history, United Nations Pageants needs winners who are capable
of performing in the role of International titleholder. While local, state and sometimes even
national titleholders are selected based on their potential to grow and develop for the next level
of competition, an International titleholder must already be there. Our winners must be poised,
confident, well spoken, attractive and personable. They must be the ideal women of the world.
Everyone has a different definition of success. Some measures of success are academic
degrees, professional accomplishments, societal contributions, family commitment and so on.
Our winners should be women that others aspire to be like.
The United Nations Pageant is a pageant; we are forthright about that fact. Our winners must
look the part. In order to attract future sponsors and delegates, we need International
titleholders who are marketable as winners of a prestigious glamorous event.
The United Nations Pageants is an International competition. One of our goals is to promote
cultural appreciation, therefore, we need winners who are open-minded and who exude a
sense of purpose. We are not looking for stereotypes. There is no “United Nations Look”.
United Nations Pageants ® Titleholders may be blonde, brunette, auburn or a black haired
beauty. Our winners may be youthful or mature, petite or tall. We are not looking for any
particular cultural “type”. Miss Teen United Nations ®, Miss United Nations ®, Ms. United
Nations. ®, Mrs. United Nations ®,Mr. Teen Miss United Nations and Mr. United Nations.® may
be members of any ethnic, racial or religious group.
40
Often people may have preconceptions about what constitutes a “Miss Teen Miss. Ms. Mrs. .Mr.
Teen and Mr. pageant winner. Instruct your judges not to allow age or situation to be a factor in
scoring. Mrs. United Nations ® may be a 21-year-old newlywed with no children or a
35-year-old mother of three. This may be her first marriage or her third marriage. She and her
husband may live in an apartment, at home with their parents, or in a fabulous mansion. Mrs.
United Nations ® should not be determined in relation to Miss United Nations ®.
Miss United Nations ® may be younger or older than Mrs. United Nations ®. Ms United Nations
® may be a twenty-something “Generation X’er” or a baby boomer. Miss Teen United Nations ®
may be a 13-year-old middle school student or a 17-year-old college Freshman.
Judges must throw out preconceived ideas about societal stereotypes and evaluate the
delegates as individuals. By accepting the premise that all delegates meet basic eligibility
criteria and by following the scoring guidelines, the winners will simply emerge.
Judging Ethics.
Pageant Judging is a responsibility and should be treated as such. Each delegate in the
competition deserves fair and equal consideration. Each has worked hard and each has
aspirations to be the next International titleholder.
Judges have the power to make someone’s dreams come true. With power comes
responsibility. Directors must select judges who are worthy individuals and capable of making
their own decisions. Instruct your judges to allow no one, including pageant staff, other judges,
or the audience to influence their scoring decisions.
Judges must not allow any biases such as religion, culture, ethnicity, race, or disability to
influence their scoring decisions, either positively or negatively. Each delegate must be judged
based upon their merits according to the criteria specified on the score sheets.
42
Returning delegates are to be afforded no special consideration. Delegates who have chosen
to purchase ads in the program book are to be afforded no special consideration. Delegates
who have many supporters in the audience are to be afforded no special consideration. Our
winners may be first time delegates who have never been in a pageant before or pageant
veterans. Each delegate must be considered an equal contender in this competition.
Directors must instruct their judges not to engage in unethical scoring practices. Explain that it
may be tempting to try to influence the outcome of the pageant by giving a favorite delegate a
score higher than is merited by the criteria. This practice is unethical and must not be engaged
in. Similarly, giving a delegate a score lower than deserved in an attempt to boost a favorite
delegate in the overall ranking is prohibited.
In the small pageant world, it is inevitable that some experienced judges may have had prior
contact with a delegate, either in a prior pageant or contest or simply casual interaction. Instruct
your judges not to allow any memory of prior performance in any past event to influence
scoring decisions in this event.
Similarly, instruct your judges not to allow any prior knowledge of a delegate to influence their
performance as an ethic judge in this competition. Such prior knowledge may include: social
interaction, whether in person, via telephone or email, observations at appearances or visibility
of the delegate in industry publications and on the internet.
During the pageant, judges may not engage in lengthy conversation with any delegate or her
family before or during the pageant. Judges who find themselves in a social situation where it is
impossible to leave (such as in an elevator) must limit their conversation to mundane issues
such as the weather, the local area, quality of the meals served, etc. Judges may, of course,
engage in conversation with any delegate or family member after the competition has ended.
Following the competition, delegates may approach the judges for feedback regarding their
performance. Judges should be encouraged but not obligated to provide helpful advice.
If for any reason and at any point in the competition you believe that a judge is unable to score
any delegate fairly, without bias, according to the criteria, and with a clear conscience, you
must remove them from the judging panel and invalidate all of their scores.
43
Our Miss Teen United Nations. Miss United Nations ®, Ms. United Nations ®, Mrs. United
Nations®, Mr. Teen United Nations ®, and Mr. United Nations ® National Titleholders will
appear in print advertising throughout their year's reign. As representatives of our pageant
system, our winners must possess photographic appeal and the ability to project an image in
print that is consistent with beauty and elegance. Our winners’ photographic images will be
used to market the pageant to future delegates and sponsors.
Photo Guidelines
• ♦ Size of the photo must be at least 5X7 & No larger than an 8X10.
• ♦ Photo MUST look like delegate. If the judge cannot recognize you from your
photo, points will be taken away.
Scoring Criteria. With the photo requirements in mind, each judge will score each delegate’s
photogenic photo from 1-10 based on the scoring criteria: Photogenic appeal, Quality & clarity
of the photo, Beauty of face,
The Interview Competition is worth 40% of the overall scoring. United Nations Pageants™
titleholders must be articulate with excellent social and conversational skills. Titleholders will be
making appearances on behalf of the United Nations Pageants ™ and therefore, must be able
to express themselves clearly, diplomatically, and must project a pleasant personality at all
times. Our winners must be confident and comfortable communicating with people from all
socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
Like a Job Interview. Judges should approach the Interview competition much as an employer
interviewing a job applicant. The delegates are applying for the job of International Ambassador
representing our organization, pageant sponsors, and most importantly, modern women/men of
the world.
Get to know the delegates. The Interview Competition is not meant to be a current events
exam, political platform, or intelligence test. Judges may ask opinion-oriented questions that
are relevant to the information listed on the delegate’s fact sheet. However, judges must be
able to separate their own viewpoints on controversial issues from those of the delegates. In
other words, you are not judging the delegate’s position on sensitive topics but rather how well
he/she is able to articulate her opinions. Judges should do everything possible to make the
interviewee feel comfortable. The purpose of the Interview Competition is to provide an
opportunity for each delegate to express her individuality and true personality.
46
Look for a “Go-Getter”. The United Nations Pageants relies heavily upon our International
titleholders to get the word out. As a result, we are seeking ambitious, enthusiastic winners
who are dedicated and committed to making appearances throughout the upcoming year.
Judges should not hesitate to inquire of the delegates to what extent they are prepared to
devote their time to promotional activities.
Interview Guidelines
• ♦ Delegates have been instructed to wear a cocktail suit, or suit for the
interview competition as well as their UNITED NATIONS PAGEANT SASH.
As this is a pageant Interview Competition, delegates’ attire may be more
formal than would be appropriate for a job interview. For example, delegates
may wear beaded evening suits, Strappy shoes & Rhinestone jewelry.
Scoring Criteria. Judges will score the interview portion from 1-10 based on the criteria of:
conversational skill, personality, demeanor, beauty, grooming, and fashion sense.
47
48
The Sports Wear Competition accounts for 25% of the overall scoring. United Nations
Pageants ® titleholders must be physically fit, with good muscle tone and body proportion. In
today’s fast-paced society, it is not easy to maintain physical fitness along with the day-to-day
challenges we all face. United Nations Pageants titleholders must carry themselves with
confidence and grace.
Scoring Criteria. Judges will score the sportswear portion from 1-10 based on the criteria
of: fitness, modeling, personality, beauty & grooming.
The Evening Wear Competition accounts for 20% of the overall scoring. United Nations
Pageants™ titleholders must carry themselves with dignity, grace, poise and elegance. The
49
Evening Gown competition is each delegate’s opportunity to look and feel like Cinderella during
her moment in the spotlight.
Delegates will be modeling gowns of their own choosing. Judges will not be evaluating the cost
or designer label of the evening wear, but rather how well it suits the delegate as well as the
delegate's on-stage presentation. Judges should consider the fit, color, and style of the gown
for each delegate.
• ♦ please note that teens are permitted to wear sophisticated, beaded gowns
consistent with a glamorous look.
• ♦ Please note evening wear is the most elegant graceful beautiful way for a
woman to shine. Take advantage of that time and be creative,
Scoring Criteria. Judges will score the evening wear portion from 1-10 according to the
criteria of: beauty, modeling, personality, and grooming and fashion sense.
The Fashion Wear Competition accounts for 10% of the overall scoring. United Nations
Pageants ® titleholders must be able to express their own personal sense of style. Fashion
can be anything the delegate feels represents a currently popular or stylish ensemble. Judges
will be looking for spirit, energy and the delegate’s own personal sense of style, as well as the
delegate's on-stage presentation.
50
Judges should consider the fit, color, and style of the gown for each delegate.
Scoring Criteria. Judges will score the fashion wear portion from 1-10 according to the
criteria of: beauty, modeling, personality, and grooming and fashion sense.
If Applicable.
