Managing Stress

Outcome to be reported on:


9.HLS.R.3 - analyses, evaluates and refines personal strategies for managing stress/crises

Assignment:
1. Your task is to first brainstorm as many different events, areas or situations you can that
bring you stress. Evaluate which situations bring on the MOST stress and why. Choose
the top 3 stressors to focus on for this assignment.
2. Once you have chosen the top 3 circumstances or events that bring you the most stress,
indicate how it impacts you. Describe/show how you feel, your actions, thoughts,
behaviors, what it leads to, etc.
3. Then choose specific coping strategies that you can focus on using during each moment
of stress that will help and allow you to deal with that stress positively. Narrow in on
ones that you will and do actually use and find purposeful
4. Once you have completed this thought process, begin to think of an art piece that will
demonstrate all three steps.

Your art piece must include:


- Your three main stressors (be as creative as you like to demonstrate this!)
- How those stressors affect you and your body
- Coping strategies that are useful with those specific events (aim to have at least TWO
coping strategies for EACH stressful event)
