Program 1: Editing images

1. Click on file menu select new option, change properties as template=90x55 business
card, width=9 inches, height=6, resolution(x,y)=300,colorspace=rgb, fill with=white,
select ‘ok’.
2. Click on ‘view menu’, select rulers & adjust the part on ruler bar (grids on scalar bar).
3. Click ctrl+o to open a new file and browse for the image file on your computer that
contains your image. Press open to display the image inside of gimp. Click and drag the
image to your text newspaper add file. Position the image in such a way that it covers the
entire background of the newspaper adds.
4. Click ctrl+o to open a new file and browse for the image file on your computer that
contains your image. Press open to display the image inside of gimp. Click and drag the
image to your news paper add page file. By using the scissor/freeselect tool to cut the
image and drag the image to your newspaper add file. Repeat this step for other images
that you want to put in your newspaper add file.
5. Click the type tool on your gimp toolbar. Click inside of the open document to type
company name and related offer title on top side of the add. Right click the text layer in
which company name related offer details are specified and select the path from text
option. Goto edit menu and select stroke path to give strokes.
6. Click the type tool on your gimp toolbar. Click inside of the open document to type offer
details, contact details etc on the bottom side of the newspaper add.
7. For every image and text create a new layer (shift+ctrl+n) and repeat the above step.
8. Merge all the layers by holding shift+ctrl. Finally click ctrl+ s and save the gimp file
(saves as a xcf document). Navigate to the file menu and select export to save the card in
other formats such as jpeg,jpg,png.
Program 2: Improve the quality of image
1. Click ctrl+o to open a new file and browse for the image file on your computer that
contains your company logo/image. Press open to display the image inside of gimp.
2. Click ctrl+o to open a new file and browse for the image file on your computer that
contains your company logo/image. Press open to display the image inside of gimp.
3. Click on image menu and then select the option scale image, set the width and height
dimensions into pixels under image size in order to enhance the image size specify the
enhance value of the image and be sure that the interpolation option under qulity should
becubic and then click scale.
4. Repeat the above steps to reduce the size of the image.
5. For every image and text create a new layer (shift+ctrl+n) and repeat the above step.
6. Merge all the layers by holding shift+ctrl. Finally click ctrl+ s and save the gimp file
(saves as a xcf document). Navigate to the file menu and select export to save the card in
other formats such as jpeg,jpg,png.
Program 3: Create an impressive background

1. Click ctrl+o to open a new file and browse for the image file on your computer that
contains your company image. Press open to display the image inside of gimp.
2. Click ctrl+o to open a new file and browse for the image file on your computer that
contains your image. Press open to display the image inside of gimp. Click and drag the
image to your background change file. Adjust the image size such that it covers the entire
background of the file
3. By using magnetic lasso tool select the image that you want to divide from the original
image. Now follow the step 2 to open another image land place the first image over the
second image in order to change the back ground of the image.
4. Select the second image and make it blur by using the option blur, blur more from the
filter menu.
5. For every image and text create a new layer (shift+ctrl+n) and repeat the above step.
6. Merge all the layers by holding shift+ctrl. Finally click ctrl+ s and save the gimp file
(saves as a xcf document). Navigate to the file menu and select export to save the card in
other formats such as jpeg,jpg,png.
Program 4: color photo to black & white conversion

1. Click ctrl+o to open a new file and browse for the image file on your computer that
contains your company image. Press open to display the image inside of gimp.
2. Click ctrl+o to open a new file and browse for the image file on your computer that
contains your image. Press open to display the image inside of gimp.
3. Select the image and then click on colors menu, select desaturate option and then select
desaturate or color to gray.
4. For every image and text create a new layer (shift+ctrl+n) and repeat the above step.
5. Merge all the layers by holding shift+ctrl. Finally click ctrl+ s and save the gimp file
(saves as a xcf document). Navigate to the file menu and select export to save the card in
other formats such as jpeg,jpg,png.
Program 5: Applying Shadow & Highlight effects in images

1. Click ctrl+o to open a new file and browse for the image file on your computer that
contains your company image. Press open to display the image inside of gimp.
2. Click ctrl+o to open a new file and browse for the image file on your computer that
contains your image. Press open to display the image inside of gimp.
3. Select the image and then click on filters menu, select lights and shadow option and then
select drop shadow, increase the grow radius. To apply highlight effects click on filters
menu, select lights and shadow option and then select supernova/lensfare/ lighting
effects.
4. For every image and text create a new layer (shift+ctrl+n) and repeat the above step.
5. Merge all the layers by holding shift+ctrl. Finally click ctrl+ s and save the gimp file
(saves as a xcf document). Navigate to the file menu and select export to save the card in
other formats such as jpeg,jpg,png.
Program 6: Join one or more audio files together

1. Choose First File Open the first of the audio files you would like to join together.
2. Insert Click on the Edit tab and select the Insert File -> At the end' option.
3. Choose Second Fie From the browse dialog that appears after completing Step 2, select
the file you wish to join to the first file.
4. Test Your Work. Test the results of your work by clicking the Play button. If you need to
make changes then undo your work and return to the first step.
5. Save as a New File. once you are happy with the result. Save the changes to a new file.
To do this use the 'File-> Save File As' menu item.
Program 7: Split a file into 2 or more other files

1. Open a File.Open the audio file you want to split


2. Select a Split Point.Place the cursor at the point in your file where the should occur.
3. Split the File Click on the 'Split->Split At Cursor' button found on Edit tab.
4. Repeat as Necessary Repeat steps 2-3 as necesary. Or use one of the other available
options from the menu upon clicking the Split button.
5. Test Your Work Test your results by clicking Play button.
6. Save All Your Files Once you're satisfied with the results, use the 'File->Save All Files'
menu item to save your files.
Program 8: Trimming video in clip Preview
1. Select a video or audio clip in a bin or on a sequence to show it in the clip preview.
2. On the clip preview's timeline, the Start Time shows as a red triangle, and the End Time
shows as a blue triangle. Drag either triangle to move the In or End Time.
3. Alternatively, move the clip preview's current playback position and
4. select Clip -> Player -> Set Clip Start Time or Set Clip End Time, or click the red or blue
flag icon button.
5. If the clip you are changing is on the sequence and the new In or End Time you have
chosen will conflict with another clip on the sequence, then the clips are moved to the
right so that no clips will overlap. Hold Alt while changing the In or End Time to
temporarily disable this behaviour.
6. Click the Split button in the Clip Preview and it will save a duplicate video clip into the
Bin with your edited Start and End Time.
7. Select the saved video clip from the bin and re-position the playback position on the
timeline anywhere in between the Start and End Time.
8. You can use the Split button again to save another duplicate video clip with different
Start and End Time.
9. Save the file
Program 9: Splitting clips in clip Preview
1. Any type of clip on a sequence can be cut in two by splitting it. Splitting can be used to
remove part of a clip from a sequence (e.g., removing advertisements), to move part of a
clip (e.g., to make space for a cut-away shot), to allow a transition to be used, or many
other reasons.
2. To split one or more clips, move the current playback position on the sequence or
sequence preview to the split position and do one of the following:
3. Click on the Split Tracks button at the top menu under the Sequence tab.
4. Click on the Split button (scissors icon) under the sequence preview to split all tracks.
5. Click on the small triangle next to the Split button (scissors icon) under the sequence
preview and select one of the split methods.
6. The methods of splitting are:
7. Split Selected Clips. All selected clips, including any linked or grouped clips, on any
video or audio track, will be split.
8. Split All Tracks. All clips, selected or not, on any video or audio track, will be split.
9. Split All Video Tracks. All clips, selected or not, on any video track, will be split.
10. Save the file
Program 10: video effects

1. Edit Effects, To edit the video effects applied to a clip, open the Video Effects dialog by
selecting the clip and doing one of the following:
2. Select Video Effects -> Current Effect Properties from the main menu.
3. Click the Video Effects button in the tool bar.
4. If the clip is in a bin, you can also right-click on the clip and select Video Effects. If the
clip is on a sequence, click the button with the 'FX' icon on the bottom left of the clip.
5. Add New Effect, To add a new effect to a clip, do one of the following:
6. Select the clip and select one of the effects in the Video Effects menu.
7. Select the clip and click the right side of the Video Effects button in the tool bar and
select one of the effects.
8. Open Effects window using one of the methods above, click the Add Effect button in the
toolbar of the Effects window and select the desired effect.
9. Save the file
