Concluding Rites
Blessing
Together with the priest, we share
the last greeting. This time the
greeting means goodbye.

The priest says

The Lord be with you.
We reply
And with your spirit
Then the priest blesses us with the
sign of the cross:
May the almighty God bless you
The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit

We reply: Amen

Dismissal

Now Jesus sends us to

share his love with others.
In the person of the priest,
we hear Jesus’ command
Go forth, the Mass is ended.
Or Go and announce the Gospel of the Lord.

The priest kisses the altar just as when he began the Mass.
This is an act of love to Christ who loves us again and again.

On our part, we genuflect after leaving our pew.

We give respect to the altar where the sacrifice of Jesus
happened and before the sanctuary where the Tabernacle is
placed.
At the concluding rites, we are one with our brothers and sisters
as we go out of the Church. We experience being part of the
body of Christ. in songs, prayers, and actions in the whole
celebration of the Eucharist. We hear the story of God’s love for
us. We are fed by God on the altar of the Eucharist

We feel the joy of

God’s love.
We cannot hold
back the joy of
meeting Christ.
We do not stay
back in the
Church.
We go out to tell
what we have
seen and heard.
All that God gives
to us, we share.
Christ sends us to
be little
missionaries of
his love. We
become new
people. Christ changes us. We are now more loving.
We love because Christ shows us to love.
