EUCHARISTIC CELEBRATION
INTRODUCTION BEFORE THE CELEBRATION
Commentator:

Good morning sisters and brothers:

Welcome to the celebration of the Baccalaureate Mass for this Year 2022-
2023.

Today, we are in the Friday of the Fifth Week of Easter. Together with
the whole Catholic Church we rejoice for Jesus is truly risen!

We also mark one of the most memorable days in our lives – our
Commencement Exercises.

However, graduation is not the end of our endeavors. Rather, it is the

beginning of a new life—a new life of facing more challenges and more
responsibilities, a new life with a MISSION. God calls everyone of us, by
our names. And in this calling, we share in the mission of His Son, Jesus
Christ: to make God’s Kingdom a reality and to proclaim Jesus Christ as
the Good News to all.

His Holiness Pope Francis Pope Francis invites the entire Church to
reflect on a theme of the Synod on Synodality that is decisive for its life
and mission: “It is precisely this path of synodality which God expects of the
Church of the third millennium.” This journey, which follows in the wake
of the Church’s “renewal” is both a gift and a task: by journeying
together and reflecting together on the journey that has been made, the
Church will be able to learn through Her experience which processes can
help Her to live COMMUNION, to achieve PARTICIPATION, to open
Herself to MISSION.

May we live and work to realize this mission wherever we will be in the
future. And with joy and gratitude in our hearts, we come together to
celebrate the Holy Eucharist in thanksgiving for all the graces we
received from God.

Please all stand and sing the entrance hymn.

INTRODUCTORY RITE
When the people are gathered, the Priest approaches the altar with the ministers
while the Entrance Chant is sung.
When he has arrived at the altar, after making a profound bow with the ministers,
the venerates the altar with a kiss and, if appropriate, incenses the cross and the altar.
Then, with the ministers, he goes to the chair.

GREETING

When the Entrance Chant is concluded, the Priest and the faithful, standing, sign
themselves with the Sign of the Cross, while the Priest, facing the people, says:

In the name of the Father, and of the Son,

and of the Holy Spirit.
R. Amen.

Peace be with you.

R. And with your spirit.

INTRODUCTION
Today is the day that the Lord has made,
let us rejoice and be glad
and we give thanks to God
for He answered our prayers.

PENITENTIAL RITE

Presider:
As we prepare ourselves for this Eucharistic celebration, let us be
deeply aware of the reality of sin in our lives; and our need of
repeated conversion to His Good News. (Pause)

Leader 1: Lord Jesus, we have many beautiful dreams about

ourselves, but most of all, we want to be dependable,
strong, responsible and true. But somehow through
our selfishness, all those dreams have become hazy.
Hear how coarse our language is; notice our great
difficulty in telling the truth. At times, we find lying

3
even more natural. We lack self-discipline, as we
sometimes waste our time and misuse your blessings.
For the times, we are so self-centered, so weak, forgive
us.

Graduates: LORD JESUS, LIGHT OF MY LIFE, HAVE MERCY.

Leader 2: Lord Jesus, it is a dream of ours to become productive

persons. We deeply believe that the school has offered
us the best responsibilities to realize this but
selfishness gets in our way. We have given in to the
temptation to cheat, to be arrogant and discourteous to
others. For the moments we gave in to our weaknesses,
we are sorry.

Graduates: LORD JESUS, LIGHT OF MY LIFE, HAVE MERCY.

Leader 3: Lord Jesus, we owe much to our families. Deep within

us have always been the dreams to show gratitude to
our love ones but sometimes take their sacrifices and
hopes for granted. From time to time, we refuse their
guidance, we resent their intrusions in our lives, yet
deep down we love them. For the times we have been
ungrateful and insensitive, forgive us.

Graduates: LORD JESUS, LIGHT OF MY LIFE, HAVE MERCY.

Leader 4: Lord Jesus, we always dreamed of ourselves as

possessing great idealism. We wished to champion the
cause of righteousness and justice, like St. Paul, but our
selfishness have caused us to embrace earthly
pleasures. Sometimes, we don’t care whether others
are exploited, or that we even allow ourselves to be
used and destroyed. In our search for pleasure, we
became unaware of the injustices around us. For the
times we preferred to be indifferent, we are sorry.

Graduates: LORD JESUS, LIGHT OF MY LIFE, HAVE MERCY.

4
Leader 5: Lord Jesus, we have dreamed to be conscious of your
presence in our lives and appreciative of your
goodness. But most of the time, we find great difficulty
in doing so. Lord, we are sorry. Please forgive us.

Graduates: LORD JESUS, LIGHT OF MY LIFE, HAVE MERCY.

Celebrant: Father, you know us through and through. You

search our hearts, you know our inmost self. We
stand before you conscious of our weaknesses and
sinfulness. We are in need of your transforming
love. Create in us a new heart and lead us to true
repentance. This we ask through Christ our Lord.

All: Amen.

KYRIE
The Priest intones the Kyrie and the assembly sings the response.

Presider: You were sent to heal the contrite of heart, Kyrie eleison.
All: Kyrie eleison.
Presider: You came to call sinners all, Christe eleison.
All: Christe eleison.
Presider: You are seated at the right hand of the Father
to intercede for us, to intercede for us, Kyrie, eleison.
All: Kyrie, eleison.

5
GLORIA
The Celebrant intones the Gloria.

GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST (to be sung)

(Dan Schutte)

Glory to God, Glory to God,

Glory to God in the highest
And on earth, peace on earth
Peace to people of goodwill.

We praise You, we bless You

We adore You, we glorify You
We give You thanks, For Your great glory.
Lord God heavenly King, O God Almighty Father. (Refrain)

Lord Jesus Christ, only Begotten Son.

Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father.
You take away the sins of the world,
Have mercy on us.
You take away the sins of the world,
Receive our prayer.
You are seated at the right hand
The right hand of the Father
Have mercy on us.... (Refrain)

For You alone are the Holy One

You alone are the Lord.
You alone are the most High, Jesus Christ.
With the Holy Spirit, in the glory
Of God the Father.

Glory to God, Glory to God,

Glory to God in the highest
And on earth, peace on earth
Peace to people of good will.

Amen, Amen.

6
OPENING PRAYER

Priest:
Let us pray.
Pause for silent prayer.

Set aside, O Lord,

the bond of sentence written for us by the law of sin,
which in the Paschal Mystery you canceled
through the Resurrection of Christ your Son.
Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
R. Amen.

Commentator: Please be seated and listen to the Word of God.

LITURGY OF THE WORD
FIRST READING Acts 5:27-32, 40b-41

We are witnesses of these words as is the Holy Spirit.

A reading from the Acts of the Apostles

When the captain and the court officers had brought the apostles in
and made them stand before the Sanhedrin, the high priest
questioned them,
“We gave you strict orders did we not,
to stop teaching in that name.
Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching
and want to bring this man’s blood upon us.”
But Peter and the apostles said in reply, “We must obey God rather
than men.
The God of our ancestors raised Jesus,
though you had him killed by hanging him on a tree.
God exalted him at his right hand as leader and savior
to grant Israel repentance and forgiveness of sins.
We are witnesses of these things,
as is the Holy Spirit that God has given to those who obey him.”

The Sanhedrin ordered the apostles

to stop speaking in the name of Jesus, and dismissed them.
So they left the presence of the Sanhedrin,
rejoicing that they had been found worthy
to suffer dishonor for the sake of the name.of the name.

The word of the Lord.

Thanks be to God.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM

8
My Heart's Thanksgiving
(Based on Psalm 8, from "O, Bayan ng Diyos")
Arnel DC. Aquino, SJ

Refrain:
As I sing my heart’s thanksgiving
and my eyes look heaven ward,
How the stars you flung like jewels bid your welcome,
shine your light.
As I marvel at your moonrise,
I’m in awe yet I ask.
“What am I that you should love me,
and hold me as your dearest love of all”.

1. You crown me with honor and glory,

and you set all things under my feet.
You have made me little less than angels even if I fly
often away. Refrain.

2. In my anxious and browbeaten moments you comfort me,

fill me with peace.
When my foes threaten, dare, and surround me,
you’re my strength you’re my light and my shield. Refrain.

3. How exalted Your name is,

O Yahweh and how lofty the work of your hands.
Yet how closely, how dearly you draw me
to your love, your divine majesty. Refrain.

SECOND READING Rev 5:11-14

9
Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches.

A reading from the Book of Revelation

I, John, looked again and heard the voices of many angels

who surrounded the throne
and the living creatures and the elders.
They were countless in number, and they cried out in a loud voice:
“Worthy is the Lamb that was slain
to receive power and riches, wisdom and strength,
honor and glory and blessing.”
Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth
and under the earth and in the sea,
everything in the universe, cry out:
“To the one who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be blessing and honor, glory and might,
forever and ever.”
The four living creatures answered, “Amen,”
and the elders fell down and worshiped.

The word of the Lord.

Thanks be to God.

Commentator: Please stand to honor the Holy Gospel.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION

Alleluia, alleluia.
Christ is risen, creator of all;
he has shown pity on all people.
Alleluia, alleluia.

GOSPEL Jn 21:1-19 or 21:1-14

10
Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them and in like manner the fish.

The Lord be with you.

R. And with your spirit.

 A reading from the holy Gospel according to John

At that time, Jesus revealed himself again to his disciples at the Sea of
Tiberias.
He revealed himself in this way.
Together were Simon Peter, Thomas called Didymus,
Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, Zebedee’s sons,
and two others of his disciples.
Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.”
They said to him, “We also will come with you.”
So they went out and got into the boat,
but that night they caught nothing.
When it was already dawn, Jesus was standing on the shore;
but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus.
Jesus said to them, “Children, have you caught anything to eat?”
They answered him, “No.”
So he said to them, “Cast the net over the right side of the boat
and you will find something.”
So they cast it, and were not able to pull it in
because of the number of fish.
So the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord.”
When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord,
he tucked in his garment, for he was lightly clad,
and jumped into the sea.
The other disciples came in the boat,
for they were not far from shore, only about a hundred yards,
dragging the net with the fish.
When they climbed out on shore,
they saw a charcoal fire with fish on it and bread.
Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish you just caught.”

11
So Simon Peter went over and dragged the net ashore
full of one hundred fifty-three large fish.
Even though there were so many, the net was not torn.
Jesus said to them, “Come, have breakfast.”
And none of the disciples dared to ask him, “Who are you?”
because they realized it was the Lord.
Jesus came over and took the bread and gave it to them,
and in like manner the fish.
This was now the third time Jesus was revealed to his disciples
after being raised from the dead.

When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter,

“Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?”
Simon Peter answered him, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.”
Jesus said to him, “Feed my lambs.”
He then said to Simon Peter a second time,
“Simon, son of John, do you love me?”
Simon Peter answered him, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.”
Jesus said to him, “Tend my sheep.”
Jesus said to him the third time,
“Simon, son of John, do you love me?”
Peter was distressed that Jesus had said to him a third time,
“Do you love me?” and he said to him,
“Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.”
Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep.
Amen, amen, I say to you, when you were younger,
you used to dress yourself and go where you wanted;
but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands,
and someone else will dress you
and lead you where you do not want to go.”
He said this signifying by what kind of death he would glorify God.
And when he had said this, he said to him, “Follow me.”

12
Or: [Short Form:]

At that time, Jesus revealed himself again to his disciples at the Sea of
Tiberias.

The Gospel of the Lord.

R. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

Commentator: Please be seated for the Homily.

HOMILY
After the reading of the Gospel, the Presider gives his homily and, at its end, the faithful may be
invited to spend a short time in prayer. The Presider goes back to his chair.

After a period of silence and prayer, the congregation is invited for the Blessing of Graduates.

Commentator: Please remain seated. We shall now have the Blessing of Graduates.

BLESSING OF GRADUATES
Representatives of the graduating class will present to the Presider the Medals and Certificates.
While one of the graduates’ addresses the Presider in these words:

Behind the triumph of this moment,

we are mindful of the many hands and hearts
that have interconnected with ours:
those of our parents, teachers, administrators, friends,
all who have inspired us, and who have touched our lives
and those who believe in us, and who love us.

to give our best in whatever task we undertake.
We also pray that these will always remind us of our responsibility
to walk before God as one family of live and faithfulness.

with unfailing generosity and love.
Grant this through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Commentator: We shall now have the Blessing of Diplomas, medals and hoods.

Presider:
Our help is in the name of the Lord.

LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST

When all this has been done, the Offertory Chant begins. Meanwhile, the ministers
place the corporal, the purificator, the chalice, the pall, and the Missal on the altar.
It is desirable that the faithful express their participation by making an offering,
bringing forward bread and wine for the celebration of the Eucharist and perhaps
other gifts to relieve the needs of the Church and of the poor.

18
The Priest, standing at the altar, takes the paten with the bread and holds it slightly
raised above the altar with both hands, saying in a low voice:

Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,

for through your goodness we have received
the bread we offer you:
fruit of the earth and work of human hands,
it will become for us the bread of life.

Then he places the paten with the bread on the corporal. If, however, the Offertory
Chant is not sung, the Priest may speak these words aloud; at the end, the people may
acclaim:

Blessed be God for ever.

The Deacon, or the Bishop, pours wine and a little water into the chalice, saying quietly:

By the mystery of this water and wine

may we come to share in the divinity of Christ
who humbled himself to share in our humanity.

The Bishop then takes the chalice and holds it slightly raised above the altar with both
hands, saying in a low voice:

Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,

for through your goodness we have received
the wine we offer you:
fruit of the vine and work of human hands,
it will become our spiritual drink.

Then he places the chalice on the corporal.

If, however, the Offertory Chant is not sung, the Bishop may speak these words
aloud; at the end, the people may acclaim:

Blessed be God for ever.

After this, the Bishop, bowing profoundly, says quietly:

With humble spirit and contrite heart

may we be accepted by you, O Lord,
and may our sacrifice in your sight this day
be pleasing to you, Lord God.

19
If appropriate, he also incenses the offerings, the cross, and the altar. A Deacon or
other minister then incenses the Bishop and the people.

Then the priest, standing at the side of the altar, washes his hands, saying quietly:
Wash me, O Lord, from my iniquity
and cleanse me from my sin.

Standing at the middle of the altar, facing the people, extending and then joining his
hands, he says:

Pray, brethren (brothers and sisters),

that my sacrifice and yours
may be acceptable to God,
the almighty Father.

The people rise and reply:

May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands

for the praise and glory of his name,
for our good and the good of all his holy Church.

PRAYER OVER THE OFFERINGS

Presider:
Sanctify graciously these gifts, O Lord, we pray,
and, accepting the oblation of this spiritual sacrifice,
make of us an eternal offering to you.
Through Christ our Lord.

R. Amen.

PREFACE I OF EASTER
THE PASCHAL MYSTERY

V. The Lord be with you.

R. And with your spirit.

20
V. Lift up your hearts.
R. We lift them up to the Lord.

V. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

R. It is right and just.

It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation,

at all times to acclaim you, O Lord,
but on this day above all
to laud you yet more gloriously
when Christ our Passover has been sacrificed.

For he is the true Lamb

who has taken away the sins of the world;
by dying, he has destroyed our death,
and by rising restored our life.

Therefore, overcome with paschal joy,

every land, every people exults in your praise
and even the heavenly Powers, with the angelic hosts,
sing together the unending hymn of your glory,
as they acclaim:

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of hosts

Heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord
Hosanna in the highest.

Commentator: Please remain standing in silence and with reverence.

EUCHARISTIC PRAYER II

The Presider, with hands extended, says:

You are indeed Holy, O Lord,

the fount of all holiness.

21
He joins his hands and holding them outstretched over the offerings, says:

Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray,

by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall,
He joins his hands and, making the sign of the cross once over both bread and chalice, says:

so that they may become for us

the Body and  Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
He joins his hands, and continues:

At the time he was betrayed

and entered willingly into his Passion,
He takes the bread and, raising it a little above the altar, continues:

he took bread and, giving thanks, broke it,

and gave it to his disciples, saying:
He bows slightly.

TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND EAT OF IT,

FOR THIS IS MY BODY,
WHICH WILL BE GIVEN UP FOR YOU.
He shows the consecrated host to the people, places it on the paten, and genuflects in adoration.

Then he continues:

In a similar way, when supper was ended,

He takes the chalice and, raising it a little above the altar, continues:

he took the chalice

and, once more giving thanks,
he gave it to his disciples, saying:
He bows slightly.

22
TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND DRINK FROM IT,
FOR THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MY BLOOD,
THE BLOOD OF THE NEW AND ETERNAL COVENANT,
WHICH WILL BE POURED OUT FOR YOU AND FOR MANY
FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS.

DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME.

He shows the chalice to the people, places it on the corporal, and genuflects in adoration.

Priest: The mystery of faith:

The choir and the assembly sing the acclamation:

We proclaim your Death, O Lord,

and profess your Resurrection
until you come again.

Then with hands extended, the celebrant says:

Therefore, as we celebrate
the memorial of his Death and Resurrection,
we offer you, Lord,
the Bread of life and the Chalice of salvation,
giving thanks that you have held us worthy
to be in your presence and minister to you.

Humbly we pray
that, partaking of the Body and Blood of Christ,
we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.
Remember, Lord, your Church,
spread throughout the world,
and bring her to the fullness of charity,
together with Francis, our Pope, Dennis, our Bishop,

23
and all the clergy.

Remember also our brothers and sisters

who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection,
and all who have died in your mercy:
welcome them into the light of your face.
Have mercy on us all, we pray,
that with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God,
with St. Joseph, her most chaste spouse,
with the blessed Apostles, and all the Saints
who have pleased you throughout the ages,
we may merit to be coheirs to eternal life,
and may praise and glorify you

He joins his hands.

through your Son, Jesus Christ.

The Presider takes the paten with the host and the chalice, lifting them up, says:

Through him, and with him, and in him,

O God, almighty Father,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
all glory and honor is yours,
for ever and ever.
R. Amen.

24
COMMUNION RITE

THE LORD’S PRAYER

The Presider:

At the Savior’s Command

and formed by divine teaching,
we dare to say:
The assembly sings the Pater Noster.

Our Father, who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.

The Presider with hands extended, continues alone:

Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil,

graciously grant peace in our days
that, by the help of your mercy,
we may be always free from sin
and safe from all distress,
as we await the blessed hope
and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

R. For the kingdom, the power,

and the glory are yours, now and for ever.

25
SIGN OF PEACE
The Presider:

Lord Jesus Christ,

who said to your Apostles:
Peace I leave you, my peace I give you.
Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church,
and graciously grant her the peace and unity
in accordance with your will
who live for ever and ever.
R. Amen.

The Presider:

The peace of the Lord be with you always.

R. And with your spirit.

Deacon:

Let us offer each other the sign of peace.

All present make an appropriate sign of peace.

BREAKING OF THE BREAD

AGNUS DEI

The assembly sings the Agnus Dei.

Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world:

have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world:
have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world:
grant us peace.

Meanwhile, the Presider takes the host and breaks it over the paten. He places a small piece in the
chalice, saying inaudibly:

May this mingling of the body and blood

of our Lord Jesus Christ
bring eternal life to us who receive it.
PRIVATE PREPARATION

26
The Presider says inaudibly:

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God,

Who, by the will of the Father and the work of the Holy Spirit
Through your death gave life to the world.
free me by this, by your holy Body and Blood,
from all may sins and from every evil;
Keep me faithful to your commandments,
and never let me be parted from you.

COMMUNION

The Presider genuflects. Taking the host, he raises it slightly over the paten and, facing
the people, says aloud:

Behold the Lamb of God

behold him who takes away the sins of the world.
Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb.

R. Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof,

but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.

The Presider says inaudibly:

May the body of Christ keep me safe for eternal life.

He reverently consumes the body of Christ. Then he takes the chalice and says
inaudibly:

May the blood of Christ keep me safe for eternal life.

He reverently drinks the blood of Christ.

After this he takes the paten or other vessel and goes to the communicants. He takes a
host for each one, raises it a little, and shows it, saying:

The Body of Christ.

R. Amen.

While the faithful receive Holy Communion, Eucharistic Hymns are sung.

PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION

27
Priest:
Let us pray.
Pause for silent prayer.

We have partaken of the gifts of this sacred mystery,

humbly imploring, O Lord,
that what your Son commanded us to do
in memory of him
may bring us growth in charity.
Through Christ our Lord.
R. Amen.

Commentator:Please remain standing. We shall now have the Thanksgiving Prayer

and Send-Off Rites

THANKSGIVING PRAYER AND SEND-OFF

Presider:
My dear students, your graduation has come.
Having been educated,
you have been chosen by the Lord in a very special way.
He established a covenant with you to be His people,
now He is sending you out
to be messengers of His Good News and witnesses to his love
wherever you may be in the future.

Today, with the help of his grace

and in the presence of your parents, teachers and friends,
you pledge loyalty to your calling,
to your commitment to Christ
and to the task he has now entrusted you.

Faculty 1:

28
Lord, as we stand before You
as formators of these children,
we thank You for all the blessings
that have come our way.
We thank You for the learning,
the insights and the experiences
that made them what they are now.
We are here with them
as they celebrate their graduation
and we commit ourselves
to walk with them in their journey to You.
Give us courage, patience and understanding
that through our examples,
we may enrich their lives
and make them better Christians.

Faculty 2:
My dear students,
the mark of a Christian
is to love one another as Christ has loved,
and that through the love of Christ
may service and justice be spread
for the unity of humankind.
It is the God of love and life,
that worked His wonders through us
for you to reach this wonderful day.
May the learning experiences
and the values learned be cherished,
so that together with our prayers,
may you be led onwards.
Grow then, dear graduates
as sharers of the fullness of God’s abundance.

University President/Dean/Principal:

29
My dear Paulinians,
Go, as another stage of your life begins.
May God fill you with His love,
may His light shine always in your hearts.

As I give you His light,

may He fill you with his light and love
to radiate peace and live the gospel values you learned.
Walk before the Lord as one family full of love,
gratitude and faithfulness.

The Principal lights her candle from the Paschal candle. Representatives of the
graduating class form their line and have their candles lighted by the President. While
this happens, the Paulinian Mission Song is sung. After which, they remain standing at
the center aisle.

PAULINIAN MISSION SONG

Sister Ma. Anunciata Sta. Ana, SPC

My goal as a Paulinian is this:

To proclaim JESUS CHRIST as the GOOD NEWS to all
in response to the need for TOTAL SALVATION
from materialism, unjust structures and apathy
through education and care of the sick.
Thus if life seems rough and the way is dark,
I will remember this goal to proclaim Christ
at all times, like Mary and Paul,
for I believe what Jesus said, “I am with you till the end of time.”
And so each day, as I travel on
I will remember that I’m a Paulinian
committed to Jesus Christ, my Lord,
to love and serve one another,
‘til in Him we unite.

30
After everyone has lighted their
candles, standing along the aisles, the
graduates lead and one of them now
prays:

Graduates:
Lord,
in your providence
and merciful love,
you made us your beloved
sons and daughters.

We pray,
increase the spirit of love you instilled in us
on the day of our baptism
and keep us faithful to you through all our days.
Make us worthy instruments in building your kingdom here on earth.
Help us to make use of all our gifts and talents to serve others,
Make us remember,
that whatever success this world would bring us
comes only from your generosity.

Keep us all from the evil of pride, selfishness and greed.

and let no one of us be ever separated from you
Make us ever be aware in everything we do,
that knowledge comes from learning.
and wisdom comes only from you.

We ask this through Jesus Christ your Son, our teacher and master,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever. Amen.

31
Then immediately follows the Act of Consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Commentator:
We now turn to the Blessed Virgin Mary, our Mother as we consecrate ourselves to her.

ACT OF CONSECRATION
TO THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY

My Queen, my Mother,
I give myself entirely to you,
and to show my devotion to you,
I consecrate to your Immaculate Heart this day,
my Life and my Eternity,
all that I am, all that I do in serving God.

Wherefore, Good Mother,

since we are your own,
keep us and guard us
as your property and possession,
free from sin and harm.
Amen.

Marian Hymn: QUEEN of HEAVEN REJOICE

Queen of heave rejoice, allelulia

The Son whom it was you privilege to bear, allelulia
Has risen as He said allelulia
Pray, God, for us, Alleluia.
Rejoice and be glad, Virgin Mary, Alleluia.
For the Lord is truly risen, Alleluia.

Immediately after the prayer, a Marian hymn is sung while the class representatives,
who had their candles lighted earlier, will now offer the candles to the Blessed Virgin
Mary. Floral offerers may also follow.

32
At the end of the hymn, Acknowledgements and announcements are
made. The, the Concluding Rites follow.

Commentator:
In behalf of the SPUSM Academic Community, I would like to thank
Reverend Father _______________________ for celebrating the
Eucharist as our thanksgiving and send-off to our Paulinian Graduates and
Completers. I also would like to thank all those who have served both in the
preparation and actual celebration of the Eucharist, for making the
celebration alive and meaningful. For all of these, let us glorify God with a
round of applause.

We shall now have the concluding Rites.

33

and through the gift of the Holy Spirit
guide our way to the glory of your kingdom.

We praise you for these students
