SILENCE

IV. PSALM

MY SOUL FINDS REST

My soul finds rest in God alone

my salvation comes from Him
He alone is my rock, my salvation, my fortress
I shall never be afraid, I shall never be afraid.

I. Trust in Him at all times, Oh, people of God

pour out your hearts to Him
He is our refuge and he is our hope.

II. Rest your heart not in riches, nor honor of the world
weighed out with the heart of God
these blow to nothingness, vanish like breath.

III. “You, Yourself” Lord have said,

“I am your strength, I am your deliverer, loving and merciful,
Father of all.

V. TAIZE SONG

Jesus, Your light is shining within us

Let not my doubts or my darkness speak to me

Je-sus, Your light is shining within us

Let my heart always welcome your love

Jesus, Your light is shining within us

Let not my doubts or my darkness speak to me

Je-sus, Your light is shining within us

Let my heart always welcome your love

VI. GOSPEL READING

A Reading from the First Letter of St. John 3: 1-3

Beloved:
See what love the Father has bestowed on us
that we may be called the children of God.
Yet so we are.
The reason the world does not know us
is that it did not know him.
Beloved, we are God’s children now;
what we shall be has not yet been revealed.
We do know that when it is revealed we shall be like him,
for we shall see him as he is.
Everyone who has this hope based on him makes himself pure,
as he is pure.

The Word of the Lord

X. PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE

(The people’s response is sung by appointed singer)

LEADER: Christ Jesus, sent by God to reveal his love to all human beings, we pray
to you.

ALL: O Lord, hear my prayer, O Lord hear my prayer. When I Call, answer me.
O Lord, hear my prayer, O Lord hear my prayer. Come and listen to me.

L: Blessed are the poor of heart; Father, make us depend on you in everything
we do, and so we pray.

3
L: Blessed are those who mourn; Father, hear our plea in the miseries and
sorrows of life and make us hopeful in you always, and so we pray.

L: Blessed are the meek of heart; Father form our hearts to be gentle and
compassionate just like the heart of Jesus, Your Son, and so we pray.

L: Blessed are those who long for righteousness; Father, inspire always to think,
speak and do what is only good, and so we pray.

L: Blessed are the merciful; Father, may we show mercy to others just as you
have shown mercy to us, and so we pray.

L: Blessed are the pure of heart; Father, help us to be modest in our clothing,
thinking and speaking that as we develop relationship with others we may only
love them with love for you, and so we pray.

L: Blessed are the peacemakers; Father, may we always be instruments of

goodwill towards others and bridge indifferences and troubles, and so we pray.

L: Blessed are those who are persecuted for Your sake; Father, form us to strong
and genuine witnesses of truth and love of You, and so we pray.

XI. Our Father

Our Father, who art in Heaven,

hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
Amen.

XII. Concluding Prayer

(Prayer by Pope Francis, March 11, 2020)

O Mary, you always shine on our path

as a sign of salvation and of hope.
We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick,
who at the cross took part in Jesus' pain,
keeping your faith firm.
You, Salvation of the Roman People,
know what we need,
and we are sure you will provide
so that, as in Cana of Galilee,
we may return to joy and to feasting

4
after this time of trial.
Help us, Mother of Divine Love,
to conform to the will of the Father
and to do as we are told by Jesus,
who has taken upon himself our sufferings
and carried our sorrows
to lead us, through the cross,
to the joy of the resurrection. Amen.

Under your protection, we seek refuge, Holy Mother of God.

Do not disdain the entreaties of we who are in trial,
But deliver us from every danger,
O glorious and blessed Virgin.

XIII. TAIZE SONG
