• Reading & understanding the characters, the main idea and
the sequence of events in the story.
• Reading aloud fluently with correct pauses.
• Responding to & answering the questions based on the text.

• Model reading by the teacher followed by individual
reading by students.

• Viewing of Benjamin West’s paintings using internet and
discussing in group about them.

the poem.
• Responding to & answering the questions based on the poem.
• Comprehension of the poeticdevices- Personification & Rhyming
Words.
• Writing a short poem of 4-6 lines using rhyming words.

Learning Outcomes:
Students will be able to-
• Recite rhythmically and comprehend the theme of the poem.
• Answer a variety of questions verbally and in writing.
• Raise questions based on their understanding of the poem.
• Relatethe poem with their own real life situations.
• Write short answers and poems with grammatical accuracy (guided
by teacher)
• Read similar kind of poems and comprehend on their
own.
• Develop social,coordination & collaborative skills through
group activities.
Teaching Methodology:
• Model recitation by the teacher followed by mass
recitation by students.
• Comprehension of the poem through discussions, raising
questions by the teacher as well as the students &
imagining the beautiful natural scenery around the brook.

• Searching for more poems about nature using internet and
sharing them in class.
