1. Overview

The HTGJ-35KV high-voltage dielectric loss tester is mainly designed for

high-capacity and high-voltage capacitive equipment, such as high-voltage
motors, factory tests of high-voltage bushings, high-voltage cables, etc., and
conducts dielectric loss testing in an environment where external high-power
test transformers or series resonance and other external pressurized equipment
are used for pressurization. The instrument is divided into two parts: a handheld
terminal and a testing host. 2.4G wireless communication is used between the
handheld terminal and the testing host. Both direct and reverse connection
methods can be used for current measurement, and the current measurement
range of both methods can reach an ultra wide range of 2uA-15A. External
high-voltage can be adaptively measured at different frequencies, with a range
of up to 30Hz to 300Hz.
The equipment have following features:
(1) 7-inch color LCD industrial grade capacitive screen, the instrument
adopts a high-end capacitive touch 7-inch color LCD display screen, with a
large display interface that displays all operation steps in English, and each
step is clear and clear.
(2) Ultra wide current range, both the direct and reverse current measurement
methods can achieve an ultra wide range of 20uA-15A, and larger currents
can be customized.
(3) Ultra wide frequency range, the external high-voltage frequency can reach
an ultra wide range of 30Hz-300Hz, and is adaptive for measurement.
(4) Various high voltage customizable , applying high-voltage voltage
externally can meet various high-voltage environments and can be
customized according to user needs.
(5) Fiber optic high-voltage communication, the industrial grade fiber optic
communication module is used between the high-voltage sampling and low-
voltage sampling of the testing host, which not only takes into account the
insulation performance between high and low voltage, but also ensures the
accuracy of the testing data to the greatest extent.
(6) Independent handheld operating terminal, the handheld terminal is
completely isolated from the testing host using 2.4G wireless

5
communication. During the entire testing process, users only need to operate
on the handheld terminal, ensuring the personal safety of operators to the
greatest extent possible.
(7) Lithium battery power supply, the handheld terminal, low voltage end of
the testing host, and high voltage end of the testing host are all powered by
lithium batteries, which can work continuously for more than 8 hours when
fully charged.
(8) U disk storage, the data stored on this computer can be saved to a USB
drive through a USB interface.

2.Working principle
Under the action of AC voltage, the dielectric consumes a portion of electrical
energy, which will be converted into thermal energy and cause losses. This
energy loss is called dielectric loss. When AC voltage is applied to the dielectric,
there is a phase difference between the voltage and current in the dielectric ψ,
ψ Cosine of δ It is called the dielectric loss angle, δ Tangent tg of δ It is called
the tangent of the dielectric loss angle. Tg δ Value is a parameter used to
measure dielectric loss. The instrument measurement circuit includes a standard
circuit (Cn) and a test circuit (Cx), as shown in Figure 2-1. The standard circuit
consists of a built-in high stability standard capacitor and a measurement circuit,
and the test circuit is composed of the test object and the measurement circuit.
The measurement line consists of a sampling resistor, a preamplifier, and an
A/D converter. The amplitude and phase difference of the standard circuit
current and the test circuit current are measured separately through the
measurement circuit. Then, the digital signal processor uses digital real-time
acquisition methods to obtain the capacitance value and dielectric loss tangent
value of the test object through vector operation.

6. Connection

(Please refer to relevant regulations for specific wiring)

Attention:

1. The high voltage must be a sine wave, and it is recommended to use

series resonance to provide high voltage.

2. Please maintain stable high-voltage voltage and fixed frequency during

the testing process after startup, otherwise it will result in incorrect test
results.

18
3. When there is high voltage, personnel are strictly prohibited from
touching the testing host.

4. After the test is completed, ensure that the high voltage has been
disconnected and use a discharge rod or grounding wire to touch the high
voltage box to verify that there is no high voltage before allowing the test
wire to be removed.
