1. Provide a clear plan of your essay, including the key points you will include, and the
sources you will use to support your points.
2. Your outline should reflect the structure given in your Source Report (unless you
have been asked to change it).
3. You can use the two sources from your source report as well as your own academic
sources (Huddersfield University Library Services/Summon, Microsoft Academic,
Google Scholar)
4. Include a Reference list. A minimum of two academic sources is required. However,
you may also include the sources from the reading list.
5. Space is given for four main body points – you can include more or less, depending
on your essay structure (REMEMBER: the word count is 1000, so more than 4 main
points may be too many).

Restate thesis: Language influences culture and defines it. Language serves as an indicator of
culture and individuality.
Final comments: Language serves as an opportunity for individuals to pass down their culture
from one generation to the another.
