Trades aren’t really about trades, it’s about rules for global prosperity. Different countries
all over the world rely on each other to build their own nation and economy. World trades are
made for them to achieve world peace and not just to produce more jobs and make the global
GDP higher. Trades between nations are met with rules that will benefit the majority regardless
of the rules set by a nation to its own.

Domestic rules and laws make a country define its sovereignty but that does not matter in
a world where globalization is at its peak. World Trade Organization set standards among
nations for better trade to occur. They made non-tariff barriers a thing when they realized that it
will make global trade more efficient.

In today’s time, world leaders understand that every nation needs one another. World
trade is one thing that can close the gap that yesterday’s mistakes that history tells us failed to
recognize. Those mistakes lead to conflict but also gave the idea on how to construct a better-
functioning society.

World trades are invented to achieve world peace in the confused of time World War II.
Economists figured out that trades between nation will stop conflict to emerge. If countries
recognize that they need other countries’ resources, war will cease. Trades are not just about
riches, it is about achieving peace.

Ever since, I viewed world trades as a product of globalization, as means for more
powerful countries to exploit third world countries of their assets. I thought that globalization is
just about culture passing on to other culture for them to be more dominant. But that is not the
case, in this context, world trade helps the entire world to be in harmony. It is the reason why
nation building is faster than ever.

That just leaves us that anyone needs everyone. Even the most powerful countries require
to be dependent on others for them to succeed economically. War with each other is
meaningless.

With the premature perspective of world trades are all about transporting goods and
services among countiries, I am now enlightened on what it is really all about. Seeing that global
prosperity comes with countries having a shared interest towards each other will is a cause of
global peace. It all comes down on compromising certain domestic laws that will satisfy most
people.

Globalization sometimes brings negative connotation that it is bad for definite reasons.
We somehow learned that it leads to economic problems like lack of local businesses,
exploitation of cheaper labor from poorer countries, and even culture being misplaced. But upon
opening our eyes on what world trades really are - a small but important part of globalization, we
catch a glimpse of productive results. In summary, learning history as part of learning what
world trades bring to the world, is an essential slice to reckon.
