Digital Citizenship Student Student

Explanation
Elements Strengths Weaknesses
Digital Access: Prior to this school year, each student in my
Equitable county was provided with a Chromebook to
distribution of take home each day and return to school.
These Chromebooks were intended to stay

with the students from elementary until high
online resources in
school. This was a huge help during virtual
school and at learning and completing missing
home assignments after school. Many families also
used this Chromebook to check grades, log
into virtual meetings and check student
progress. Since students were so familiar with
the online platform, this element is a
strength. This year, the new policy was
removed, and all Chromebooks were
needed to remain at school. This is a
weakness as many students and families do
not have access to a device at home.
Digital Commerce: This element is a weakness for my students.
Electronic buying The reason I think this is first, students in third
and tools and grade have not fully mastered the concept
of money. On addition to this, students are

digital space or buying is a foreign concept to many
students in my class. I do think that this
should be taught as students should be
aware that you are able to purchase or sell
things online. I would incorporate this into a
social studies lesson when we discuss buying
and trading goods.
Digital This element is a student strength as students

introduced to what opinions are and what

research was complete, students knew how
to determine where their information was
coming from and if it was or was not a
credible source.

lack an understanding of how long their
screen time should be. I do not think there is
enough information sent to families and
students about the risks of too much screen
time. To change this from a weakness to a
strength, I would send home more
information about the dangers and risks of
too much screen time to families.
