Monday, September 19, 2011 KIMEP Achieves Program Accreditation from Asian Forum on Business Education Bang College of Business Recognized for its MBA and B.Sc. programs - the first business school in Kazakhstan to receive AFBE accreditation KIMEP is delighted to announce that the Asian Forum on Business Education (AFBE) has awarded the Bang College of Business (BCB) Level 2 (regional) accreditation for its market-leading MBA and Bachelor of Science. This means that BCB is recognized by AFBE as a strong business school in the Asian region, with a substantial regional reputation and presence in Asia, standing comparison with institutions in China, Korea, Singapore and Malaysia among others. The award also confirms that KIMEP is two to four years from achieving the gold standard of global business school accreditation AASCB and EQUIS. This is in line with KIMEPs own strategy to achieve this recognition in the next three years. A three-member team from AFBE visited KIMEP in August 2011 to examine BCB programs and undertook an extensive process of review, consulting with all stakeholders students, faculty, managers, alumni, employers of graduates and staff. Dr William Gissy, Dean of BCB said: this is an important external validation of our progress. I am delighted that the hard work of our faculty and students has been recognized Dr Chan Young Bang, President of KIMEP noted: this is wonderful news for all our stakeholders, particularly our students and faculty. This award confirms that we can already hold our own in Asia. Working together, we will achieve genuine world-class status in the next three years.
