Theoretical Paradigm

The theoretical paradigm embodies this study is primary interest.It provided as a


framework for the researchers to measure the skill level of chosen learners

The illustrative figure above basically shows how the study will conducted. It embodied
the specific direction by which the researchers have to undertake. It used the I- P-O model
which shows the transformation process.The input includes the competency level of the
respondents in performing diesel engine tune up as concerns to the following core
competencies: Set injection timing, install injection pump,inspect injection timing,bleed
injection system components and conduct compression testing.For more appropriate
information and concepts, different studies about performing diesel engine tune up were
gathered to serve as a guide in performing an acceptable video presentation.
The process includes analysis of gathered data through a performance task, statistical
treatment of data,and mean percentage score.Finally,the output stage is creation of step-by-
step video guide presentation.
Significance of the Study

The result of the study will benefited the following:

For the industrial arts and automotive students, the results of this study will help them to
improve the low level competency in performing diesel tune up.The students will be guided to
learn the expected competencies when it comes to knowledge and skills, in performing diesel
engine tune up through the proposed video material.

Also, the automotive teachers will benefit since, they will be able to know the least
competency part of their students when it comes to performing diesel engine tune up.Through
this study, they might be guided on how to help the students in enhancing their competence
level with the use of the proposed video materials.

For the administrators, they will be given information about the level of competence of
the students. Through this, they will be guided on what professional help they can give to the
teachers to improve the level of competence of the students. As such, supervision and
administration of the school teaching and performance tasks could be strengthened to attain
the desired level of competence of the students.

Last, the future researchers will use result of this study can serve as a basis for further
study and would be provided a reference and sample relevant materials for the competency
level in performing diesel engine tune up and others.
