Roozbeh,

As discussed just:

CONCEPT SELECTION
ATKINS shall undertake a high-level concept selection process to identify offshore platform options
to fulfil the design requirements. This shall be based on the following main inputs:
- Equipment, piping and utility weight and space requirements
- Preliminary topside layouts and weights
- Latest weight report
- Environmental and geotechnical conditions (metocean and site investigation reports)
- Pipeline and utility connections and routings
- Well slot quantity, position and drilling constraints
- Jacket and Topside Installation options, preferences and constraints
- Topside safety requirements (as per Safety Case)
- CAPEX vs OPEX costs

Potential platform solutions could include but not be limited to the following (I do not know how we
have gone for these options, but there are also other options and some of these options might be
considered not feasible from very early stages based on water depth, installation problems and so
on):
- Horizontally lifted and upended jacket and a separate topside module
- Vertically lifted jacket and a separate topside module
- Monotower jacket and separate topside module
- Self-installing topside
- Self-floating jacket and separate topside module
Given the variance in water depth between Endurance and Hewett it is likely that different jacket
solutions may be optimal for each location.

TOPSIDE – PRIMARY STEEL

Once equipment, piping and utility requirements have been defined preliminary platform topside
layouts shall be developed. From a structural perspective, layouts shall be optimised to distribute
weight evenly across the Topside and supporting structure.
Early stage weight assessments of the total Topside lift weight shall be performed to define any
additional installation constraints.
To provide a required design, weight and pricing accuracy of ±+/- 15%, the following preliminary
Topside design shall be undertaken:
- Framing plans
- Main section sizing
- 3D SACS/Staad Modelling Plots
- Weight reporting

Design analysis would be performed using ……Sacs and Staad software (based on the 3rd bullet
above).

TOPSIDE – SECONDARY STEEL

Secondary and tertiary steel weight and cost will be principally evaluated based on our previous
experiences and standard details. However, some secondary structures would be analysed and
designed include including but not be limited to the following:
- Crane supports
- Access ladders and stairways
- Some secondary beams transferring important loads
- Plating (especially for lift analysis)

At pre-FEED stage assessment of the weight and cost of these items would be defined based on
norms and standard and experience from similar projects.

JACKET – PRIMARY STEEL

With preliminary Topside size and weight defined, the support structure or jacket design shall be
developed. Key inputs including but not limited to those listed below shall be based on the main
inputs listed above in section 1.0, or be based on experience from similar projects:
- No. of legs
- Structural configuration
- Footprint
- Batter
- Transportation orientation
- Lift points

With an outline geometry determined preliminary analysis shall be performed using ……. Sacs
software. The following outputs shall be produced:
- Jacket structural arrangement Jacketand geometry
- ???Members cross sections
- Analysis results including deflections, deformations, stresses and utilisation ratios

JACKET – SECONDARY STEEL

Secondary and tertiary steel would include but not be limited to the following:
- Boatlanding(s)
- J-tubes, I-tubes and Caissons

At pre-FEED stage assessment of the weight and cost of these items would be defined based on
norms and standard and experience from similar projects. However, to achieve more accurate
loading on jacket primary structures, these secondary steels will be added to the analytical model in
a simplified manner.

FOUNDATIONS and JACKET TO SEABED CONNECTION

The platform could be connected to the seabed by pre or post installed piles or by self-weight.
Depending on the availability and level of geotechnical data held for the site, preliminary
geotechnical assessment of the ground conditions shall be assessed. Based on this assessment a
preliminary design can be developed on which to base weight and price estimates.
