1. Overview
This document provides information on installing the SmartOne Dispatch, which includes the SmartOne Dispatch
client, business server, media server, access server, web server, and gateway. You can quickly finish the installation
under the guidance of this document.

3.1 Understanding the Typical Networking


The SmartOne Dispatch consists of the SmartOne Dispatch client, business server, media server, database server, FTP
server, access server, web server, and gateway. You can deploy all the servers and the gateway on the same computer
or separate computers.

The following figure shows the separated deployment, which is the typical recommended networking.

To make that the SmartOne Dispatch work properly after the installation, ensure the following requirements are met:

3.3 Planning Data


This section describes how to plan installation information, such as directory path, IP address, port, and password.

3.3.1 Planning Directory


The following table lists the planning installation directory and data storage directory. You can modify the directories
based on actual situations.

3.3.2 Planning Network


The following table lists the IP address and port to be configured. You can modify the configurations based on actual

3.4 Obtaining Installation Programs


Before installing the SmartOne Dispatch, you need to obtain the installation disk, which contains all the installation
programs. The following table lists detailed information about the installation programs.

4. Pre-installation Tasks
This chapter describes the following tasks to be finished before installing the SmartOne Dispatch:

 4.1 Activating the Administrator Account

 4.2 Installing the PostgreSQL Database

4.1 Activating the Administrator Account


The administrator account is disabled on the Windows 7 SP1 or Windows 10 by default. Before installing the
SmartOne Dispatch, ensure that you have logged in to the computer as an administrator. To achieve this, do as follows:

1. Right-click Computer (on Windows 7 operating system) or This PC (on Windows 10 operating system), and
then select Manage.

The Computer Management window appears.

2. In the left navigation pane, go to System Tools > Local Users and Groups > Users.

3. In the middle pane, right-click Administrator, and then select Properties.

The Administrator Properties dialog appears.

4. Deselect Account is disabled, and then click OK.

5. Log out of the current account, and then log in to the computer as an administrator.

4.2 Installing the PostgreSQL Database


1. Log in to the computer as an administrator.

2. Double-click the PostgreSQL installation program "postgresql-10.1-2-windows-x64".

3. Click Next.

4. Select an installation directory, and then click Next.

The installation directory is that you have planned in 3.3.1 Planning Directory.

5. Select a directory to store data, and then click Next.

The data directory is that you have planned in 3.3.1 Planning Directory.

Caution
Do not store the data on the system disk (for example, Local Disk C). Otherwise, the system error or data loss
might occur due to the insufficient free space after long-term running.

6. Enter the password of the super user (postgres), and then click Next.

The password is that you have planned in 3.3.3 Planning User.

Caution
Keep the password properly for further configuration. Otherwise, you have to reinstall the database.

7. Enter the port number, and then click Next.

The port number is that you have planned in 3.3.2 Planning Network.

8. Click Next.

5. SmartOne Dispatch Installation


This chapter describes how to install the SmartOne Dispatch.

Description
 The SmartOne Dispatch installation package contains the installation programs of the SmartOne Dispatch client,
business server, media server, web server, gateway, and access server. You can select required programs to install.

 This document only describes how to deploy the media server on the PC running Windows operating system. The
media server has been deployed on the PC running Linux operating system by default.

Caution
 The SmartOne Dispatch cannot be deployed on the same computer with other Hytera dispatch system.

 Make sure that the computer where the business server, media server, or gateway is to be installed will not enter
the power saving mode. Otherwise, these service will be stopped, resulting in system malfunctions.

Procedure
1. Log in to the computer as an administrator.

2. Right-click the installation file "SmartOne Dispatch3.0.××.×××××.exe", and then select Run as administrator.

3. Specify Installation Path.

The installation path is that you have planned in 3.3.1 Planning Directory.

4. Select the installation programs according to your network deployment.

Installation Program Description

Dispatcher Client Used to install the SmartOne Dispatch client and the media server for the client.

Business Server Used to install the business server and the media server for the business server.

Media Server Used to install the media server.

Dispatcher Gateway Used to install the gateway and the media server for the gateway.

Web Server Used to provide main services for the web client.

Access Server Used to provide dispatch services for the web client.

5. Click Update Now.

During the installation, the installation program will automatically detect whether all the required software (such
as NET Framework 4.5.1, Microsoft Visual C++ 2008, Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 X86, and Microsoft Visual
C++ 2013 Redistributable X86) has been installed. If not, the appropriate installation wizard for the required
software will appear automatically. In this case, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

6. Click Finished.

6. Post-installation Tasks
This chapter describes the tasks to be finished after installing the SmartOne Dispatch.

6.1 Checking the Servers and Gateway


The methods for checking the installation of the business server, media server, access server, web server, and gateway
are the same. This section takes the method for checking the installation of the business server as an example.

1. In your browser, enter the URL of the configuration tool "https://IP address of the business server:11111" in the
address bar, and then press Enter.

The URL of the configuration tool is that you have planned in 3.3.2 Planning Network.

2. Enter the user name and password, and then click Login.

The user name and password are that you have planned in 3.3.3 Planning User.

3. In the upper-right corner of the configuration tool page, check the status indicator of the business server.

If the indicator flashes green, the business server has been installed successfully.

6.2 Checking the PC Client of the SmartOne Dispatch


1. Check whether the shortcut icon appears on the PC desktop.

 If yes, go to step 2.

 If no, contact Hytera technical support engineers.

2. Check the status of the media server for the client.

a. In your browser, enter the URL of the configuration tool "http://IP address of the SmartOne Dispatch
client:12345" in the address bar, and then press Enter.

The URL of the configuration tool is that you have planned in 3.3.2 Planning Network.

b. Enter the user name and password, and then click Login.

The user name and password are that you have planned in 3.3.3 Planning User.

c. Check the status indicator of the business server.

If the indicator flashes green, the business server has been installed successfully, indicating that the
SmartOne Dispatch client has also been installed successfully.

6.3 Checking the Web Client of the SmartOne Dispatch


1. Open the Google Chrome.

2. In the address bar, enter the URL of the web server "https://IP address of the web server:9800/login" (for example,
https://192.168.1.10:9800/login), and then press Enter.

The login interface appears.

3. Enter the user name and password, and then click Log in.

If the main interface of the web client appears, the web client of the SmartOne Dispatch has been installed
successfully.

7. Appendix – Installing and Configuring the


FTP Server (Optional)
This chapter describes how to install and configure the FTP server. Skip this chapter if the multimedia message service
(MMS) is not required.

Description
 The FTP server is used to transmit multimedia messages (such as images, text messages, videos, or files) between
different SmartOne Dispatch clients and between the SmartOne Dispatch client and P-PoC6000 radio. The FTP
protocol is used for multimedia message transmission between the SmartOne Dispatch client and business server
and between the business server and gateway. The HTTP protocol is used for multimedia message transmission
between the gateway and P-PoC6000 radio.

 If hot standby or restoring of multimedia messages is needed, deploy the FTP server and the business server on
the same computer.

Procedure
1. Install the FTP server.

a. Log in the computer as an administrator.

b. Right-click "FileZilla_Server_v0.9.53.0_setup.1435823314.exe" and select Run as administrator.

c. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

2. Configure the FTP server.

a. On your desktop, double-click the shortcut icon of the FTP server.

b. Click OK.

The FileZilla Server window appears.

c. Create the user name and password for accessing the FTP server.

i. In the FileZilla Server window, go to Edit > Users.


The Users dialog box appears.

ii. In the Page area, click Gen1eral.

iii. In the Users area, click Add.

iv. Enter the user name and click OK.


For details on how to plan the user name, see 3.3.3 Planning User.

v. In the Account settings area, select Password and enter your password.
For details on how to plan the password, see 3.3.3 Planning User.

d. Set the root directory of the FTP server to store data.

i. In the Page area, click Shared folders.

ii. In the Shared folders area, click Add.

iii. In the Browse For Folder dialog box, specify a directory to store audios, videos, and photos, and then
click OK.
It is recommended that the data be stored on the hard disk other than disk C.

iv. In the Files and Directories areas, select all the check boxes.

v. Click Set as home dir.


e. In the lower-left corner of the User dialog box, click OK.
