International Law
Chile enjoys the security and protection afforded by Chilean
laws and international norms, a network of international,
bilateral and multilateral treaties, provides foreign investors
with international protection standards.

National Law
Law 20,848 of 2015 issued by the Ministry of Finance
establishes the framework for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
This law establishes the following founding principles:
• Economic freedom
• Non-discretionary procedures
• No arbitrary discrimination
In the second half of 2023, President Boric launched the “Investing in Chile" strategy, with a
plan which aims to increase investment during his term.

It is a package of measures based on analysis of the current situation, made by national and
international institutions, where the Government recognizes that investment is the main
factor for growth, but not in any way, but seeking to enhance an active environment for
investment, decarbonisation, and other green projects.
