These are now under experiment and we are not in # position to specify their application ranges in pressure and number of revolution, however, a time will soon come to be éapable of advising the customer in respect to their practical applications. 3.5 Filtration ‘Jf fine particles of dirt and metal are mixed with oil, they enter into sliding surfaces and accelerate ‘wear in each part, and in the worst cose sei= : zure will be likely 10 occur. It is recommended, therefore, that the eus- tomer not only will take necessary measures 10 prevent oil from contamination with such fine particles but also to provide an oil flter in the circuit withour fil. Kawasaki-Stafla motors will tolerate particle sizes of 75 micron at pressure up to 100kg/ em? but for meximum pressure, 25 micron filers should be used. The same result will be obtained by the combination of full flow straining (75 micron) plas 10% by-pass fl- ation at 10 micron as shown Fig, 3-3 that indicates a typicel closed circuit, He. 38 3.6 Mounting of Motor and Piping 1) The motor can be intstalled in any direction. Valve, Pistons and Bores The valve and the pistons without piston rings should be @ smooth sliding fit in their re- spective bores. Components which are slightly scored are generally reusable (except on motérs where high volumetric efficiency is required) provided al! sharp edges are removed by lightly stoning, Con-Rods and Carnkshaft Scoring of the crankshaft or the beating surface of the con-ruds is not acceptable. Although slight roaghness of the former may be removed by polishing. All high spots on the running surfaces should be removed. The ball end and spherical seat should not show signs of pick> vp. The orifice in the through hole in the con-rod should be clear and tight. The diameter of the orifice hole is critical and should not be enlarged. The orifice size is 0.5)%10mm, The track for the guide rings must be smooth. 2 Bearings Bearings must be carefully inspected for damage to cup, cone and rollers. Fretting or small Jotigue cracks must be taken as a sign of failure but discolouration by fluid additiones can be ignored. Excessive wear on the rollers edges can be taken as # indication that the bearing should be replaced, even if no other signe of failure are evident. 1f the cones hove been removed from the crankshaft, the bearings shuld be renewed 25 the i) cause process of removal invariably causes damage. Neglecting to renew ine bearings them to fail prematurely. ‘The bearings must be a press fit on the shaft'and in their housings 4, Piston Rings Piston rings should be offered to their respective bores and the ap checked. "O” Rings All “O” rings should be replaced as @ matter of cause, If, however, spare “O™ rings are not readily avairable, the old rings may be used again provided that they ere free from curs and other damage and are of circular cross section. Overhesting will cause some set in the section of the ring and this not acceptable. 6 Oil Seal This should normally be renewed but the original may be used if the seal lips are free {rom ‘cuts or excessive wear and the grater spring in intact, 7, Front Cover and Casing ‘These must be a light interference ft together and the surfaces on which the guide rings run must be smooth, Fretting marks on the mounting {ace of the casing are caused by incorrect fitting on the installation, or loose mounting bolts. This can cause izilure of the front cover screws. EB. Guide Rings ‘The guide rings must be smooth and free from the inclusion of metallic particles. -B- sy CONTROL VALVE FOR PARALLEL CIRCUIT INSTRUCTION MANUAL.
