4.Evaluate the ability of CAD to enhance a project workflow- in the form of a written report.

CAD softwares, are very helpful especially while designing. Using CAD software Lectra to do this
module helped me a lot as it was easier to construct a pattern and modify it. Designing, creating
and modifying patterns on the CAD software is easier and quicker.
When constructing the skirt block pattern, it was way faster than when constructing it by hand.
When using the software, I mostly only had to insert numbers to mark the points then drew
lines to match the points. When hand drafting the pattern, I had to use several tools to be able
to have a straight line or a good curve and even with the right equipment, sometimes it did not
turn out good.
When alternating the pattern, it was easier when using the software, as I just had to input the
amount of inches I wanted to add to a piece without have to trace it back. When hand drafting
a pattern, I had to trace the block once then trace off the piece that I needed to add inches to,
then add the inches and retrace the new pattern.
When grading the pattern on the software, it is easier as, once again, I just have to input the
numbers and the grading was already done for me. When doing it by hand, the grading is a pit
more complicated as you have to measure each part of the pattern well to be able to grade it.
In conclusion, using CAD helped me to do this module more effectively and accurately.
