Fairy Crown

1st Crown Illustration Development

For this first crown illustration, I started by


sketching the figure and crown on paper, then
scanned it. I then used the polygon tool to
select the face and body of the figure and used
the paint bucket tool to color the selected
figure. I then selected the places where the shad-
ows would be using the polygon tools and col-
ored it with the paint bucket tool.
I then procced to add the highlights and
added the base hair color and the lips.
I also added the base color for the crown and
eyes. After adding all the base colors I proceed
to add the details by using the paint brush tool.

After adding all the details, I smudge the high-


lights and shadows, using the smudge tool
so that they look natural. I also removed the
crown sketches using the eraser tool so
that the crown look prettier.

For this first outfit illustration, I started by


sketching the figure and outfit on paper, then
scanned it. I then used the polygon tool to
select the face and body of the figure and used
the paint bucket tool to color the selected
figure. I then selected the dress and colored it
with the paint bucket tool.
I then added the hair color and crown using the
polygon tool and the paint bucket tool.

I then proceed in adding the shadows on the dress using the


polygon tool and the highlights on the chest using the paint
brush tool.

To finish the illustration, I added the highlights on the


dress and removed the sketch on the chest using the eras-
er tool.

For this second crown illustration, I started by


sketching the figure and crown on paper, then
scanned it. I then used the polygon tool to
select the face and body of the figure and used
the paint bucket tool to color the selected
figure. I then added the shadow using the same
techniques.
After adding the shadows, I’ve procceed to add
the highlights using the polygon tool and the
paint bucket tool.

After adding the highlights, I added the base


color for the hair and eyebrows using the same
techniques.
I then added the base color for the crown, eyes,
lips and moon on the forehead.

After adding all the base colors, I smudge the


hightlights and shadows using the smudge tool
to make the face look a little more natural. I also
added the highlights and shadows on the lips
using the polygon tool and paint bucket tool.
After adding the highlights and shadows on the
lips, I procceed to smudge it using the smudging
tool. I then added the details on the eyes using
the paint brush tool.

After adding the details of the eyes, I added the


destails on the hair and eyebrows using different
size and shape of paint brush tool.
After adding all the faice details, I procceed in
adding the details on the crown with the paint
brush tool.

After adding the details on the crown, I remove


the sketch layer of the crown using the eraser
tool so that it looks more natural. I also
added some gold freckles on the cheeks and nose
using the soft paint brush tool.

For this second outfit illustration, I started by


sketching the figure and outfit on paper, then
scanned it. I then used the polygon tool to
select the face and body of the figure and used the
paint bucket tool to color the selected figure.
I then selected the hair and lips and colored them
with the paint bucket tool.
I then added the eyes, dress and crown base
color using the same tools. I also removed the
sketch layer of the crown using the eraser tool.

I then proceed in adding the shadows on the dress using the


polygon tool and the paint brush tool.

To finish the illustration, I added the highlights on the


dress using the polygon tool and paint bucket tool in
some places and in other places I used the paint brush
tool.

For the third and last crown illustration, I started


by sketching the figure and crown on paper, then
scanned it. I then used the polygon tool to
select the face and body of the figure and used
the paint bucket tool to color the selected
figure. I then added the shadow using the same
techniques.
After adding the shadows, I’ve procceed to add
the highlights using the polygon tool and the
paint bucket tool.

After adding the highlights, I added the base


color for the hair and eyebrows using the same
techniques.
I then added the base color for the eyes and lips.

I then procceed to add more highlights under


the eyes and added the colors for the sun on the
forehead and the base crown color using the
polygon tool and paint bucket tool.
I then procceed to smudge the highlights and
shadows using the smudging tool.

I then added the highlights and shadows on the


lips and proceed to smudge them as well.
I then added the details to the eyes and crown
using the paint brush tool and the smudge
tool.

To finish the final illustration, I added the hair and


eyebrows details using the paint brush tool and
also added blue eyeliner on the top and bottom of
the eyes.

For the last outfit illustration, I started by sketching the


figure and outfit on paper, then scanned it. I then used the
polygon tool to select the face and body of the figure
and used the paint bucket tool to color the selected
figure. I then selected the hair, lips and eyes and colored
them with the paint bucket tool.
I then colored the neck, sleeve and waist band
using the polygon tool and paint bucket tool.

I then proceed in adding the dress and sleeves colors.


After adding the dress color, I added the crown color
with the polygon and paint bucket tool.

To finish the illustration, I added the shadows and high-


lights on the dress and smudged them a little, using the
smudging tool ,so that it looks a bit more flowy and
natural.
