The artist began by sketching the scene and using the pen tool to create precise lines for the comic book style. They filled strokes with the brush tool and plotted shadows and highlights. Base colors were laid down for the subject and surrounding area. Shadows were filled in at varying tones, then highlights were added according to the light source. Effects of fire on the fist were created using orange tones. Background character designs were added and colored black to look like shadows from the fist lighting. Hues and brightness were adjusted to complete the final poster image.

At first, I began with an initial sketch as a base to
determine where my precise lines would be.
After sketching, I used the pen tool to mark out each point on lines and curved them manually. I used the pen tool as it can give very smooth, precise lines, which is essential for them comic like style. To create a stroke path I right clicked the path that I created with the pen tool and click on, brush to fill the stroke with the brush tool. I carried on this process throughout the entire piece At this point, I roughly plotted where the shadows and highlights would fall and how the lighting of the picture was. Here, I laid down the base colours. To do this I had to colour around the perimeter of the subject, and fill in the subject the desired colour, reffering to my character design from earlier. Next, was the stage of laying down the shadows. First I filled the shadows in , according to the light source (fist) then within those shadows I added some varying lighter tones to give a range of shades and tones. Next, I added the highlights according to the light source. This helped create the illusion of light. I wanted to give the effect of fire on the fist. To do this I used a deep orange on a different brush preset with lighter orange toneson top of it. I continued experimenting with different shades of yellow and orange, with different layer styles such as overlay and lighter colour. I adjusted opacity on some layers to make the fist just about visible. In order to make this piece look more like a poster, I added some character designs that I have previously drawn for this comic book in the background. I coloured over the top of them in black to give the illusion of shadows on their faces. This aided towards the effect of lighting from the fist. After adjusting hues and brightness, I had finished the final poster image.
