Life in the city – a pet peeve

Many pedestrians in Barcelona has/have experienced nearly being knocked over by a bicyclist
riding on the sidewalk. One of my friends was/were hit by a bike last year. Only a few of these
riders is / are ever fined for this dangerous behavior. Even when bike riders use the street, some of
them don’t/doesn’t stop at red lights, so a pedestrian risks/risk his or her life crossing the street.
Of course, pedestrians also needs/need to follow the rules and not walk in bike lanes. Each of us
has/have to do our part to make Barcelona a safer city. My advice is/are to look behind you
frequently as you walk!
