Summary of the Methodological Procedure

Before focusing on the overall results of this research, it would be pertinent to first

analyze the methodology used by the researchers to find the effects of green human resource

management on employee behaviour in the hotel industry. As mentioned above, the researchers

have used both the quantitative and qualitative research methods in order to prove their

hypothesis. Focusing on the quantitative studies first, the researchers have used surveys to

collect their data as it is considered one of the most appropriate and adequate methods of data

collection in quantitative studies (Pham et al., 2019). The primary reason for choosing this

method was its ability to measure the relationship between the variables, which has allowed the

researchers to establish the connection between environmental management and employee

behaviours. The researchers focused on the employees of 4- and 5-star hotels in Vietnam, which

were actively involved in the environmental activities (Pham et al., 2019). Moreover, the

researchers have not only relied on surveys to accumulate their data as they have focused on the

previously published environmental-related studies of these hotels, which has allowed them to

compare the contemporary facts collected from the survey with that of the ones published earlier.

These hotels were considered because of their environmental practices and training of the

employees, which included recycling, reducing, and replacing waste materials (Pham et al.,

2019). Moreover, their effective use of water and energy has made these hotels an instant and

prominent choice for the researchers.

The survey questionnaires that were provided to the participants included close-ended

structured questions, and almost 203 valid questionnaires were used for the quantitative analysis.

Focusing on the number of variables, which is 3 in this case, the sample size of this research

stood at 203 (Pham et al., 2019). The questionnaires remained focused on the green HRM
practices and included the questions related to employee training, green performance

management, and green employee involvement. In order to measure the performance

management, the focus remained on the overall understanding of the environmental goals,

targets, and responsibilities of the employees (Pham et al., 2019). At the same time, the

employee involvement process was related to their role in the overall decision-making procedure

or their role in solving the problems related to environmental matters.
