I am writing to express my interest in the MSc in Statistics program at

the University of New Brunswick. I am reaching out to you as I understand
that you are one of the renowned faculty members in the Mathematics &
Statistics Department, I would be honored to have the opportunity to work
with you as my supervisor.

I hold a degree in Mathematics (Statistics) from Federal University of

Technology, Minna in Nigeria, where I graduated with a Second Class Honour,
throughout my undergraduate studies, I developed a passion for Statistics and
I have been seeking opportunity to further develop my skills and knowledge
in this field, particularly it application to agriculture and/or medicine.

I have reviewed the research activities in your group and the

department at large and I was particularly impressed by the work you have
done so far, which include, simultaneous modeling clustered marginal counts
and multi-nomial proportions with zero-inflation (2018), Tweedie family of
generated linear models with distribution-free random effects for skewed
longitudinal data. Statistics in Medicine. (2018), as I believed that it has
potentials to make a significant impact in improving health outcomes and
agriculture for individuals and communities.

I am particularly influenced by the interdisciplinary approach to

research in the department and I believe that it would provide me with the
opportunity to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the subject
matter.

I would be grateful if you could provide me with more information

about the MSc Mathematics (Statistics) program, and whether you would be
interested in my research if were to be admitted to the program.
