A very “rare” tale

Destination Karminia is a book for people who want to learn more about

vocabulary and reading for IELTS test, the book was written by Maureen Simpson

and the story describes the adventure of three teenagers and Professor Sonia

Peng who was looking for archeologist to find the lost city of Karminia. Instead of

being a monotonous book, it was an ethical, addictive and childish content.

The reading tells us the story of the characters going ahead with their trip

and how they overcome different situations when the ethic was reflected, if a

problem appeared the principal characters always would act in a good way, the

reason why is because the book was designed for schools and has to leave a

teaching in order to instruct kids for not taking bad decisions according to the ethic.

On the other hand, the book always keeps the readers aware of what was

happening and what were the new clues that the story let us, some things weren’t

obvious and that is why the lecture made us think which could be the next clue and

if we were close to find Karminia. As a result, the book was addictive for everyone

who want to read it, never you are going to find a part that is boring and you won’t

know what happen next.

Due to the principal objective of Destination Karminia, we can realize that

was made for kids and schools that want to study and learn more about English,

however of being a short childish book, the story let us enough vocabulary and

imagination, and as a consequence it can be a lecture for every age range, it

doesn’t matter if you’re an adult or an old-aged, the narrative will always be

interesting and addictive.

In conclusion we cannot say that a book is just for one kind of person or one

type of group, the books are made for “readers” depends on you if you want to be

the lector or not, Karminia is a prove of that argument, instead of being a boring

book, was a teaching, interesting and obsessive book, we just have to enjoy a

reading and let it guide us to a new world of imagination.
