Coordination tables for Selectivity
(400 415 V AC)
Data exported from SOC tool on: 2023/05/09
Important notice
Data exported from SOC tool on: 2023/05/09
Notes
(*) Given tables' values are valid for various device configurations.
Device's configuration and related SKU may differ depending on various parameters such as the number of poles, extra features, type of release for breakers, etc.
The application's requirements define the most appropriate device configuration.
(**) The upstream and downstream voltage levels depend on the network.
All given tables are valid for all the rated voltages covered by the ranges 400 – 415 V AC and 230 – 240 V AC. To insure the correctness of the selection,
please refer to latest revision of ABB technical documentations.
Guarantee
The information contained in SOC – Selected Optimized Coordination – reflects the current state of our knowledge and aims to present our products for
selectivity, backup or other devices protection and their possible applications as defined with the applicable International standards. The product data, ratings and
utilization conditions are indicated in SOC coordination tables; thus, the information does not guarantee special utilizations or combination of characteristics that
have not been defined or tested according to normalized values or test conditions defined with the standards and does not guarantee the fit for any specific
purpose. The devices shall be used in accordance with the user manual.
This SOC tool is made available “as is” and with no express warranty. ABB further disclaims all other statutory and implied warranties, including, but not limited
to, any warranty of fitness for particular purpose or merchantability. The user and user’s company agree that in no event will ABB be liable to the user or user’s
company for any claims, liabilities, or damages even if caused by the negligence of ABB, and under no circumstances will ABB be liable for any indirect, special,
incidental or consequential damages.
Liability
The devices in coordination tables do not endanger safety when they are selected, mounted, commissioned, used, maintained and disassembled with the
applicable rules and standards and in accordance with the user manual. The devices shall be used by experts and welltrained people.
The results generated by the SOC tool must be reviewed and approved by the user.
Additional information
We reserve the right to make technical changes or modify the contents of this document without prior notice. With regard to purchase orders, the agreed
particulars will take precedence. ABB does not accept any responsibility whatsoever for potential errors or possible lack of information in this document.
Selectivity
Fault values are expressed in 50 Hz RMS.
Selectivity short circuit values are valid at the voltage described. Selectivity at voltages different of those specifically noted is not implied in these tables.
The instantaneous selectivity is based on the upstream and downstream circuit breaker magnetic trip threshold being set at the highest possible setting. Where the
downstream circuit breaker has an adjustable trip, the setting may be adjusted lower without adverse impact on selectivity. Unless otherwise indicated, the
upstream breaker magnetic trip threshold setting must remain at maximum to achieve the listed selectivity. In particular the following rules must be respected.
Upstream thermomagnetic MCCB with a magnetic trip threshold:
higher than or equal to 10xIn when the magnetic threshold is fixed (TMD)
set to the maximum value when the magnetic threshold is adjustable (TMA)
such so as not to create trip overlapping with the loadside circuitbreaker, taking into consideration the tolerances and the real currents circulating in
the circuitbreakers
Upstream electronic MCCB:
the instantaneous protection function I must be set to OFF (I3=OFF)
The I2 current threshold of function S, less any tolerance, must be adjusted so as not to create trip overlapping with the upper magnetic threshold of
the loadside circuitbreaker, taking into consideration the real currents circulating in the circuitbreakers
