1. Give example of coastal communities in the country
which were affected by the weather and climate change.
What are the actions of the government to address the
issue?

Manila Bay in Manila, Philippines is one of the “climate

change-vulnerable” coastal communities in the Philippines.
The area usually experiences sea level rise as an after-effect of
climate change. What is more alarming is that many Filipino
families reside near the area. In relation to this, the
government does continues to allocate budgets to fund the
different programs that would promote awareness regarding
climate change in the area, and strengthen and sharpen the
teeth of RA 9729 or the “Climate Change Act.” Specific to the
vicinity of Manila bay, enormous drives and improvements
were made to transform the area. The purpose is not only to
beautify it, but to also solve its associated problems, and
climate change is very included in that.
2. Give at least 3 stressors of climate change to human health?

Three (3) out of the numerous stressors of climate change on human health
are pollution, deforestation, and food production.
3. Give at least 3 examples of each stressors based on our local
experience.

Increased use of vehicles that release (1) enormous amounts of dirty smoke,
(2) burning plastics instead of recycling, and (3) careless disposal of harmful
chemicals are the local experiences examples of “pollution” as a stressor for
climate change. For examples under “deforestation” as a stressor for climate
change are (1) transforming forest areas into an establishment, (2) cutting
trees to use as raw material for infrastructure construction, and (3) cutting
trees for making commodities (i.e., souvenirs). Lastly, for "food production" as
a stressor of climate change, examples are the (1) processing of food, (2)
distribution of food, and (3) preparation of food. Each of these 3 examples
does emit greenhouse gases in the atmosphere that can be a cause of climate
change
