Task 1
The given line graph illustrates the cost of 800 grams in pounds of four different
kinds of bread in a certain European country between 2001 and 2006.
Overall, there was a rise in the price tag of rye bread and white bread, while the
cost of brown bread saw a fluctuation. In addition, rye bread was the cheapest one
during 2001 and 2005.
There was a significant increase in the cost of white bread. Starting at 0.6 pounds
per 800 grams in 2001, it grew to nearly 1.3 pounds after 4 years. Similarly, the
price of brown bread climbed to 1.6 Euros in 2003, after which it experience a
slight decrease to 1,4 Euros in 2004. Then it witnessed an upsurge to 1.6 pounds in
2005.
In contrast, the cost of rye bread begins at 0,6 pounds, followed by a decline to 0,3
pounds in 2002. After that, the price grew to 0,7 pounds in 2005. As the cost of
wholegrain bread, registered at 0,8 pounds in 2001, the price went up to 1.8 pounds
which is the highest figure. Then, there was a dramatic drop to 0,7 pounds in 2004,
ending the period at 0,8 pounds in cost.

Task 2:
It is argued that issues of the environment are too big for a person to deal with.
While there are some benefits of these decisions, I personally think that the
solutions for environmental matters are not lie in each person’s action.
On the one hand, although protecting the environment needs a lot of factors, the
most important thing is the awareness of each person. For example, factories
dumped waste in the river and residents throw rubbish into the street. This is all a
matter of awareness, therefore if people more pay attention to the negative impact
they had on the environment, it can tackle the environmental problem.
On the other hand, I noted that not many people care about global warming and the
high rise sea level. This is because people are not widely well-informed about an
environmental problem, and most of the pollution comes from an organization or a
company. As the result, they tend to not pay attention and do not think they are
responsible for this.
In conclusion, although many things that individuals can do to solve environmental
problems, I firmly agree with those who think this will not work.
