103
AirScale Evolution - LTE 19 / 19A Features
LTE19A introduces concurrent operation of FDD and
TDD in one eNodeB.

System module is shared between FDD/TDD and it’s

treated as one logical eNB.

Phase synchronization is mandatory if TDD cell are

configured

Extension boards are still dedicated. Can work for FDD

or TDD but not for both at the same time.

Radio units are dedicated for FDD or TDD technology

One central transport for FDD & TDD

CA between FDD/TDD cell inside one eNB is supported

CA & NB-IoT with no additional baseband hardware

AirScale Introduction:- Summary

• Same Software as FSMF

• If you can use BTS manager for FSMF you can use for AirScale
• Hardware is Different
• 1 Box
• 2 Nodes (1 FDD ASIA + 1 TDD ASIA) LTE18
• 3 ABIA Capacity cards per ASIA (max in LTE18)
• Outdoor & Indoor Variant
• AirScale needs separate Power Distribution for Radio Units
• AirScale supports larger configurations with less hardware per technology
• AirScale has higher MTBF
