Introduction
Metelx Technologies was established in 2006 in Lahore. The company manufactures current
and voltage transformers up-to 24 KV application, both indoor and outdoor. METELX Technolo-
gies is an ISO 9001: 2015 certified company. MeteIx's products have wide acceptance. Products
are manufactured to WAPDA/NTDC, BS, IEC, and AS standards and dimensions are to DIN stan-
dards. Products have been type-tested. The company has vast expertise in the design and man-
ufacture of current and voltage transformers for metering, protection and special protection
applications.

The manufacturing unit of the Metelx Technologies is well-equipped with manufacturing and
testing equipment. Testing of instrument transformers is done using International standard
Equipment required for this purpose

Approvals
METELX Technologies is an ISO 9001: 2015 certified company. The products manufactured are
the routine and type tested to domestic and international standards at NV & SC Lab, Rawat
Laboratory, Pakistan. The performed type-tests include short time tests, impulse tests, partial
discharge and temperature rise. Our Instrument transformers meet the requisite international
standards including stringent requirements of partial discharge.

Instrument Transformer
Instrument Transformers is a special transformer that is used in electrical power system (Indus-
trial Area) for stepping down currents and voltages of the system for measuring, metering and
protection purpose. The primary winding of the transformer is connected to the high voltage
or high current circuit, and the meter or relay is connected to the secondary circuit.
The electrical instruments are not directly connected to the meters or control apparatus of
high voltage for safety purpose. The instrument transformers (like voltage transformer and
current transformer) are used for connecting the electrical instruments to the measuring instru-
ments. These transformers reduce the voltage and current from high value to the low value
which can be measured by conventional instruments (Non-Risky Instruments).
The measuring instrument like Ammeter, Voltmeter, Wattmeter, etc. designs for low voltages. If
the measuring apparatus connects to the high voltage lines for measurement, the devices may
get burned or damage. Thus, the Instrument transformer (CT, PT) uses for measurement.

Current Transformer (CT)
A Current Transformer (CT) is the principal measuring device for protection and metering
schemes in any power system. The primary current of the CT is transformed into the required
secondary current, usually 5A or 1A. Not only is the accuracy of the transformation of prime
importance, but also the isolating function. In fact there is no matter what the system voltage
on the primary circuit, the secondary circuit need to be insulated only for a low voltage.

Potential Transformer (PT)
Potential Transformer is also known as Voltage Transfromer. It consist of primary and secondary
windings which are electrically isolated but coupled magnetically by a core. Their role in electri-
cal systems is of primary importance as they “step down” the voltage of a system to measurable
values, such as 110 V or 100 V, thus enabling Standardization of equipment
Voltage Transformer Measurement For Metering:
A voltage Transformer with typical accuracy class: 0.1, 0.2, 0.5, 1.0 and 3.0 used mainly for mea-
suring through meters and similar apparatus.
Voltage Transformer Measurement For Protection:
A Voltage Transformer with typical accuracy class 3P, 6P are used mainly for protection Relays.

Low Voltage Current Transformer (LV)
METELX produces a comprehensive range of Low Voltage Current Transformer according to
International/Local Standards. A variety of designs are available to suit individual require-
ments. Ring Type (bus bar mounted) CTs with different sizes of windows are available that
provides easy mounting for any position in LV appliances. All current transformers are
constructed from high-grade material and are individually tested for compliance with the spec-
ifications. A team of qualified and experienced staff is assigned for the design and testing of
current transformers. Strict quality control is exercised to provide a reliable product.

Low Voltage Current Transformer (LVW)
Having a variety of low voltage instrument current transformers METELX also manufactures
special instrument transformers for WAPDA which is used for measuring purposes. Before
copper winding on the steel core, annealing process is used to removes stress from the core,
which is critical to ensure the core will deliver optimum accuracy and minimum excitation loss.
These trasfromers are the current-sensing units of the power system and are used at generat-
ing stations, electrical substations, and in industrial and commercial electric power distribu-
tion.

Epoxy Insulator And Bushing
Keeping our synchronization with the engineering development taking place in this industry,
METELX is engrossed in delivering a broad range of Epoxy Insulator. The 00KV high-voltage
insulators are made of high-quality insulating materials which have superior electrical insula-
tion performance, superior mechanical strength, and reliable dimensional stability. Epoxy
resins are widely used as insulation material in electrical and electronic applications and these
manufactured insulators are used in electrical equipment to support and separate electrical
conductors without allowing current through themselves.
