Draw a curve, if a circle of 40 mm diameter rolls outside another circle of 120 mm diameter
for one revolution. Draw the tangent and normal at any point on the curve.

Subtended angle, θ =( 𝑟/𝑅) x 360

r – Radius of generating circle ,R – Radius of directing circle
∴ Included angle of the arc, θ = (20/60 )x 360= 120°

A 20 3 1

The end A of a line AB is 10 mm in front of VP and 20 mm above HP. The line is inclined at
30° to HP and front view is 45° with XY. Top view is 60 mm long. Complete the two views.
B 20 3 1
Find the true length and inclination with VP. Locate the traces.

Construct a parabola when the distance between the focus and directrix is 60 mm.

Draw the projections of a pentagonal sheet of 26 mm side, having its surface inclined at 300 to VP
. ’ one side is parallel to VP and inclined at 45o to HP.

Make free hand sketch of the front, top and right side views of the object shown in the figure.

A hexagonal pyramid of 26 mm side of base and 70 mm height rests on HP on one of its base
edges such that the triangular face containing the resting edge is perpendicular to both HP and
VP. Draw its projections.

A pentagonal prism, side of base 25 mm and axis 50 mm long, rests with one of its edges on HP
such that the base containing that edge makes an angle of 300 to HP and its axis is parallel to VP.
Draw its projections.
