REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR LICENSURE

The requirements and qualifications for licensure as a Mechanical Engineer in the Philippines
are the following:
a) He is a Filipino citizen.
b) He must not have been convicted of a crime involving immoral conduct in a court of law.
c) He has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree from a government-
recognized university, school, college, academy, or institute.
The applicant must pass a written examination on a variety of subjects or groups of subjects
prescribed by the Board, as well as within the syllabi prepared by the Board, with an emphasis
on power plant and industrial plant engineering, mathematics, engineering economics, economic
analysis, laws and ethics, and machine design. The following subjects will be examined by the
candidate for Mechanical Engineers:
1) Machine Design, Materials, and Shop Practice
2) Industrial and Power Plant Engineering
3) Mathematics Engineering Economics and Basic Engineering Sciences
