For more than a decade the Ford
Transit has been the most successful
van range in Britain. The 1981 Transit
is the same vehicle you know and
trust, but now there is more of it. and

for your money...

it offers even greater advantages over
rival products.

Safety: comfort and convenience are

enhanced with these added
features:-
• The provision of halogen
headlamps on all modelsas
standard equipment promotes
greater driving confidence at night
and in adverse conditions.
• Two inertia reel seat belts in
standard vans plus a lap strap in
bus and custom models are now
included in the price of the vehicle.
• A laminated windscreen replaces
the toughened windscreen and
provides good visibility even when
damaged
• 1981 standard model seats are
finished in Shark grey deep
embossed. easy to clean vinyl
trim. Luxurious. hard wearing
random striped cloth trim is
supplied with all custom models.
• To provide a comfortable ride and
a relaxed driving position the
drivers seat is fully adjustable fore
and aft and for rake. In addition
the seat height may now be varied
on all models thus avoiding
tiredness, irritation and a
reduction in concentration.

* Except parcel vans

 Single passenger seat in all
standard van models with a dual
passenger seat in custom van
models to make better use of the
three man cab width. To add a
touch of refinement all van, bus and
chassis cab models are supplied
with sun visors and seat valances.
• A large 15 gallon fuel tank is fitted
to all short wheelbase Transit vans
except those ordered with a
sliding side step. The 15 gallon fuel
tank is already standard
equipment on long wheelbase
vans.
• On all custom models a clock,
speedometer trip recorder,
reversing lamps and a front towing
eye are now included as part of
the pack.

makes the Ford Transit even better
