Once upon a time, in a little old

town, There was a funny old

man, with a face like a clown.
He swallowed a bee, oh dear, oh
my! I don't know why, don't ask
me why.
He swallowed the bee to catch a
butterfly, that funny old man,
with a face like a clown.
I don't know why, he swallowed
the butterfly. I don't know why,
don't ask me why.
He swallowed the butterfly to
catch a grasshopper. That funny
old man, with a face like a clown. I
don't know why,he swallowed the
grasshopper. I don't know why,
don't ask me why!
He swallowed the grasshopper
to catch a lizard, That funny old
man, with a face like a clown.I
don't know why, he swallowed
the lizard. I don't know why,
don't ask me why.
He swallowed the grasshopper
to catch a lizard, he swallowed
the lizard to catch a snake, Oh,
what a mistake, what a mistake!
He swallowed the snake to
catch a cat, Oh, what a chase,
imagine that! That funny old
man, with a face like a clown. I
don't know why. Don't ask me
why!
He swallowed the cat, to catch a
dog. That funny old man, with a
face like a clown. I don't know
why, he swallowed a dog. I don't
know why, don't ask me why!
He swallowed the dog to catch a
cow, mooing and mooing in a
field full of grass. I don't know
why he swallowed the cow. I
don't know why, don't ask me
why!
But that was the end, for our
funny old man. No more animals
left to swallow left or right.
And here he is, with a tummy so
round, the funny old man, with a
face like a cloud. He learned a
lesson once and for all. Not to
swallow creatures, big or small!
