Week 5: Gathering Scattered Israel

Name: [Nelson Moya M.]

Scripture
● Choose 10 scriptures to study in the Index topic, Israel, Gathering of. Choose one scripture and explain
the truth and significance this one scripture teaches about the gathering of Israel.
2 Nephi 30:7-8:
And it shall come to pass that the Jews which are scattered also shall begin to believe in Christ;
and they shall begin to gather in upon the face of the land; and as many as shall believe in Christ shall
also become a delightsome people.
And it shall come to pass that the Lord God shall commence his work among all nations,
kindreds, tongues, and people, to bring about the restoration of his people upon the earth.
For the gathering of Israel to take place, all people, including Jews, must believe and accept
Jesus Christ as their Savior. In this scripture we can see that to the extent that the Jews accept Christ
as their Redeemer, the Lord is gathering from all parts of the earth.
While we believe in the literal gathering of Israel, this gathering also means that all of us who
accept Jesus Christ are united as his children and as one delightful people.

Living Prophet
The Lord is hastening His work to gather Israel. That gathering is the most important
thing taking place on earth today… every one of our Heavenly Father’s children, on both sides of the
veil, deserves to hear the message of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ...Nothing else compares in
magnitude, nothing else compares in importance, nothing else compares in majesty...Would you like to
be a big part of the greatest challenge, the greatest cause, and the greatest work on earth today?...The
gathering of Israel ultimately means offering the gospel of Jesus Christ to God’s children on both sides
of the veil ...Every child of our Heavenly Father deserves the opportunity to choose to follow Jesus
Christ, to accept and receive His gospel with all of its blessing. There is nothing happening on this
earth right now that is more important than that. There is nothing of greater consequence. Absolutely
nothing. This gathering should mean everything to you. This is the mission for which you were sent to
earth. (Russell M. Nelson, Hope of Israel, Youth Fireside, June 2018, emphasis added)
● In your personal life, how do you feel the Lord would like you to participate in the gathering of Israel?
[ I have felt that the Lord wants me to help every son and daughter of his to come to Him. Initially I
thought that I had to get everyone baptized in his church and I got frustrated when someone did not
accept that invitation. I have now learned that loving people, trying to see them as God sees them,
sharing with them sincerely, and inviting them to come to Christ through words and example becomes a
beautiful and rewarding job.
In my calling I also have the opportunity to invite not only those who do not know the truth, but also to
help those who have strayed from the covenant path to return.]

[I shared with my wife about Research Family Tree Wiki. It is a great tool that I did not know. I learned
a lot about the order of the records by city, state, or province, that facilitates the way for looking for
the information.]
