The difference between active and passive learning are when you engage in active
learning you are interacting with course material through discussion, solving problems and role
play in some extends. The students can proof their statements in a practical way if needed and a
discussion will emerge for everyone to engage, in this way the students are interactive with each
other and actively learning together. Where in passive learning the student is responsible
when/if the information that is presented by the instructor or lecturer is absorb. The student is in
charge to ask questions and get information from the lecturer, paying attention in class will be
the first priority to manage his/hers studies.
“Instructors are responsible for providing accurate and timely information about their
courses to prospective students, current students, and relevant members of the University
community.” (University of Minnesota. 2021). Furthermore the instructors are giving students
the guidance throughout their classes and the assistance for those that are in need.
The role of peer assessment in the learning process is very important; this gives the
student the ability to interact with other students through discussion and assessments. Giving
them the responsibility to assess fellow students work. This will enable them to learn from
eachother and themselves.
