Challenge

Challenge: Open the supplied dataset Tripod.f3d for this lesson challenge. This file contains several
components for a tripod mechanism that need to be assembled with appropriate joints. A combination
of Joints and As-built Joints should be applied to define the degrees of freedom for each component to
achieve the desired motion of a tripod. Additionally, an exploded view of this assembly should be
produced for a detailed drawing. The detailed drawing should contain a Parts List to identify each
unique component in the assembly. Finally, a render of the fully assembled device should be produced
and exported.

The following steps/items are required:

• Joints: Define Joints and As-built joints to establish motion relationships between components.
Animate/Drive the joints to verify the motion.
• Joint Limits: Configure applied joints to have appropriate Joint Limits for the desired function of
the device.
• Animation: Use the Animation workspace to create an exploded view of the assembly.
• Drawing: Create a detailed drawing of the exploded assembly and add a Parts List, along with
any appropriate dimensions. Export the drawing as a PDF.
• Render: Create a render of the fully assembled device and export an image using any settings
you wish.
