Task 1:

The plans below show the layout of a university’s sports centre now, and how it
will look after redevelopment.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and
make comparisons where relevant.

The pictures show plans for a university sports centre as it is now and the new
layout after its redevelopment.
Overall, while some outdoor facilities will be disappeared, the new centre will be
significantly larger and will cater for a wider range of sports.
The sports centre currently consists of a relatively small central building with an
outdoor court sites on each side. The building provides a 25-metre pool, with a
seating area and changing room, and there is a gym to the back and a reception
area to the front.
Following the renovations, only the central pool and its facilities will remain the
same. The building will be expanded to the east and west removing the outdoor
courts and making way for more indoor facilities. There is a pool on the west
western side, which will be slightly larger than the existing one and have changing
room inside it. On the eastern East side, there are a new sports hall and two dance
studios. The current gym will be lengthened so that it is will almost double its
current size. The reception area will also be widened, making it more spacious.
The new centre will provide three changing room, a sports shop and a coffee shop,
which will be located around the reception area.

Task 2:
In some countries, more and more adults continue to live with their parents even
after they have completed education and found jobs.
Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

While it is claimed that there are some advantages to be gained from the trend that
in certain nations numerous adults choose to stay with their parents in spite of
being educated finishing their education and having their jobs, I would argued that
it could have more detrimental aspects. My essay will justify the benefits and
drawbacks of the given development.
On the one hand, I would take stock of some significant benefits gained from the
trend given. Firstly, staying under the same roof can help to forge stronger bonds
between family members. This means that they have more time for face-to-face
interactions and intimate conversations. Therefore, family members can undertand
each other more and provide necessary advices for life. Secondly, living with
parents can help young graduates to save a substantial amount of money. In fact,
living together in a house can reduce monthly costs per person effectively by
splitting the household bills and sharing the food expenses. As a result, young
adults can cut back on their budget to save for other purposes such as further
education courses or on a rainy day.
On the other hand, along with major benefits mentioned above, several drawbacks
of the given development should not be ignored. One negative aspect is that those
who remain staying at home are likely to be dependent on their parents and have
trouble developing the capacity for making their own decisions and managing
problems. For example, parents usually help them do daily tasks such as preparing
meals, doing the laundry and tidying their rooms, so in case of going far from
home for business trips they will find it difficult to deal with such kinds of tasks
due to the lack of skills. Another important negative aspect is that staying too long
at home with family can cause the young missing to mis some better job
opportunities. This means that, when young adults are familiar with the supports of
parents they do are not ready to change the living enviroment so they may be
recluctant and even ignore the chances to get jobs in other places with higher
salaries, which can provide their family with better living standards in the future.
In conclusion, both pros and cons of the trend have just been weighed up. As far as
I am concerned, its disadvantages are much more significant.
