The thesis concentrates on traveling wave approximation. The unsteady unidirectional flow of an incompressible
third-grade fluid over an infinite porous plate is studied. The flow is induced due to the motion of the plate in its
own plane with an arbitrary velocity. The governing equation in physical, biological, and economic models is
generally nonlinear in nature. It is always difficult to obtain the solution to such nonlinear models. Symmetry
reductions are performed to transform the governing nonlinear partial differential equations into ordinary
differential equations. The reduced equations are then solved analytically and numerically. The traveling wave
symmetry formulation of the model leads to a solitary wave solution to the problem. Moreover the improved
Korteweg-de Vries equation and other such equations will be obtained. Many non-linear differential equations
with constant co-efficient methods are constructed to find special solutions. Although, the majority of the
applications are not appropriate to find non-linear differential equations with variable coefficients. The new
method is introduced to find the non-linear differential equation with variable coefficients by the special solution.
This method is derived from the “Bernoulli equation”.
