USE OF RUBRICS

Rubrics- are tools that are used to evaluate or assess the quality of performance or work based on a set
of predetermined criteria.

There are different kinds of rubrics, and these are;

 holistic rubrics
 analytical rubrics
 developmental rubrics

1. Holistic Rubrics- This type of rubric assesses a student's overall performance on a task or
project.

2. Analytical Rubrics- Analytical rubrics break down a task or project into specific components, and
each component is evaluated separately.

3. Developmental Rubrics- Developmental rubrics are used to assess a student's progress over
time.

Example:
 In the assessment and evaluation of PE and health education, rubrics can be used to measure a
variety of skills and knowledge. For example, a rubric could be used to evaluate a student's
ability to perform a specific exercise or activity correctly.

 Rubrics can be beneficial in PE and health education because they provide specific feedback to
students about their performance and progress. They can also help teachers identify areas
where students may need additional support or instruction.
