He was born on November 10, 1836-Lima, he

perform asa soldier and politician in Peru, he also

fought in the War of the Pacific and was

Constitutional President of Peru on two occasions.

In fact,he is the patron saint of the Infantry Weapon

of the Peruvian Army. Andrés Avelino he entered the

army at a very young age and took part in several of the civil confrontations of the time

in the service of Ramón Castilla. Promoted to captain, he went to the border when the

war with Ecuador broke out. During the government of General Pezet he was exiled to

Chile for his opposition to the president; when he was allowed to return to the country,

he supported the coup d'état of Mariano Ignacio Prado and participated in the Combat

of Callao or May 2, 1866, in which Peru defeated the Spanish fleet.
