A disaster is a sudden, calamitous event that seriously disrupts the functioning of a

community or society and causes human, material, and economic or environmental losses that
exceed the community’s or society’s ability to cope using its own resources. Though often
caused by nature, disasters can have human origins. The combination of hazards, vulnerability
and inability to reduce the potential negative consequences of risk results in disaster.

Disaster preparedness refers to measures taken to prepare for and reduce the effects of
disasters. That is, to predict and, where possible, prevent disasters, mitigate their impact on
vulnerable populations, and respond to and effectively cope with their consequences. Disaster
preparedness activities embedded with risk reduction measures can prevent disaster situations
and also result in saving maximum lives and livelihoods during any disaster situation, enabling
the affected population to get back to normalcy within a short time period.

In life we have also a disaster to be faced, it may because of our actions and decision or
because of the world that made us to experienced. But even if we have lot and different disasters
to be face (man-made or natural) in this planet, may we all always be prepared and always be
resilient, may we have always the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties and toughness,
the ability to spring back into shape. May let us not always consider the disaster of our life a
cursed for us but a beautiful disaster that by it we learned something important in life. And if you
think life goes messy don’t consider it just a disaster instead think it was being a Beautiful
Disaster, means to me that things go wrong in our life, big or small but it’s how you handle them
that makes you who you are. If you take the bad and make it good then that’s amazing and a
beautiful thing.

There’s always damages after the disasters that comes to any person, it’s okay to hide
some pain and leave some spots messy. Our life is not like a desk that we can perfectly clean up.
It’s okay to take time for the disaster in our lives to settle. We can rest, enjoy other things,
continue living, leave and comeback when you’re better. The disaster that been visited to our life
may take some of our energy, recover that energy, heal the wounds and free the mind.
Everything will be better when we will get better.
